It Might Be Time To Hang It Up

I used to do both PVE and PVP when I first started this game in 2015. PVP was a lot of fun then. Small scale in the sewers was the best. Now every fight is ball groups with so much healing that it's stupid...or it's stam toons with apparent infinite dodge-rolling that will run in circles and up and down stairs for 30 minutes rather than die. It has gotten so boring with all the sets that have come out over the years and overplayed OP Warden class. ZOS! What happened to fun PVP? It's irreversible at this point. It used to be a buddy or two and I just hitting the sewers or finding small scale fights, 2vX...but all you find is what I mentioned. I largely gave up PVE because chasing the latest meta every 3 months with balance changes and new sets, along with the toxic community, got old fast. Might be time to go back to games that don't encourage ball groups and zergs all the time. I sit here and watch two stam literally run up and down the stairs and in circles hoping they time their Dawnbreakers on that one person, and I'm dumb enough to chase. After 10 minutes, I realize what a waste my life has become and can't get those 10 minutes back. How is that fun for them? It isn't for me. Wait.. am I missing something? You claim PvP was a lot of fun in 2015, yet you're complaining about stam builds that dodge infinitely right now? So you much prefer the infinite sustaining Vamp DK, Magblade (well just NB at that time), and shield spamming/infinite streak Sorc?

As long as ball groups are effective, players will gravitate toward them. Sure, low man is great fun... as long as you're winning. Lose enough and you're likely to bring a few more friends along to even the odds. Doesn't take long until that few friends turns into 24. Then you have the situation you're seeing here.

I did chuckle at the complaint that the meta changes all the time in PVE while simultaneously complaining about too many "boring" sets that have come out over the years.

You can name OP or crazy stuff from every patch. But in the first couple of years, people just put on some damage sets and went nuts. Yes, zergs have existed since the beginning, but outside of that were just fun damage v damage. It's so boring now.

And for some reason, tea-bagging wasn't that big of a thing early on. Now you get tea-bagged after every you are zerged down 30v1, usually by the level 38 who didn't even touch you. Tea-bagging was kind of funny was used sparingly. Now it's after every time you die for no reason. Has the average age of players gone down to 13 or what?

Someone knows - but that's not me. Supposedly from what little was said, it was a mutually agreed upon "divorce".

Moved on to a new job I believe.

It can be both annoying and completely boring when all you run into is ball groups or a player who just runs around rocks/trees/towers. My best advice would be to leave them. Find another fight somewhere or take a break from the game for a bit. I pvp with a friend. If DC is taking a keep we will watch a door and engage enemy reinforcements, look for and destroy camps etc.

Those aren't mutually exclusive issues. Pay attention.

The meta hasn't changed much at all since Summerset. Spell Strat and axes getting nerfed is about it.

Then you complain that all the new sets are boring while lamenting the "fact" you have to change your meta build every 3 months. So either all the new sets are boring because they are meta (which they are absolutely not) or you are complaining that all the new sets stink (which most do) which would conflict with the ever-changing meta gripe.

Seems I'm paying attention just fine. For starters, you are still here. Thought you were adios.....

My point is, your nitpicking doesn't make any logical sense. As far as balance goes, 2015 PvP was way worse. It's what we have now without a single balance pass on anything. Min/Max builds were undebatably OP, with the exception of Templar. The Cyro servers also held way more people, so the zerging was worst (telling that the factions lock now a lot sooner than vanilla). Sure, there were more noobs running around so those Damage v Damage fights occurred, but then those same noobs ended up in a 1vZerg smash video when a more competently built pvper came along.

If ZOS didn't change a single thing we'd still be at where we are now because nobody would remain fodder for the few people that theorycrafted how to be defensive powerhouses in vanilla.

I feel you on a lot of points.

I wonder why I login still for sure.

I am playing a class that has to work so hard to get kills (Magblade) and has little to offer ball groups.

And as this class it's automatic to get teabags due to the hate behind Cloak.

It's quite toxic that I pretty much start hating on people because they have to work so effortlessly to secure a kill (even though I've been playing years on them).

Good luck to you. I'm hoping another console MMO will grab my attention someday so I can leave but until then I'll be miserable lol.
