Medals also don't count in any way towards the team's total points. Points are awarded for objectives, in this case, holding the flag once the timer ticks.
Many times I have ended up with a great medal score and personal achievements, but came on a losing team, because the overall score was bad as my teammates didn't go for objectives.
Was that enough explanation?

That makes sense. I think I'm stupid because I run tons of BGs but never thought about that lmao!

Many teams lose because they think every match is a deathmatch. If actually is NOT a deathmatch, then kills/deaths don't count for anything other than personal badges, all the points are awarded for objectives in the game.

In that case, 10 killing blows and contributed damage for another 24 kills by their team. 2700 points by adding up the medals. Not sure about the remaining 70 points.
