✭✭✭✭✭The strange thing is... they always seem to try and kill you when you are speaking to the quest giver. But as soon as I was done questing and stood out in the open in a "Come on, give me a bloodport!" way... think anyone came to kill me? Nah, I had to ride all the way home...
On a more serious note, yeah, I am one of the PvE people who went a-questing, and got ganked a few times. Only one of them was really aggrivating, even tho the others were also no fun... I mean, I don't mind getting rekt on the questing now and then, but when they actively work to make the questing impossible out of sheer mean-spiritness during an event where people with limited time hunt motiv pages... eh. Still, I used the doggiesitting-for-my-brother time on the last day to do a LOT of questing, and finally, FINALLY, grabbed the tharns pants! Wait... that sounded a little dirty now...
Anyhow, it was mostly fun despite the gankings, and I will be back to get ganked again someday!17 -

I don't think people so much 'hate' it. From my experience, people new to Cyrodiil in particular are overwhelmed by it. The map, navigating the landscape, interruptions to routine, being attacked when unaware, unfamiliarity in general; when you put on top of that actual reactive combat mechanics -- it can turn people away very quickly. Hostility like this thread just compound the issue. People I've introduced, generally enjoyed their time there, and after a session of hand-holding, returned by themselves or in groups of their own composition. Not many players are averse to being killed or getting aggression from other players, it's the frustration of being a bit lost without the ability to find your bearings and actually learn the lay of the land and game-play nuances that escalates into a strong dislike. [same can be said for group pve content]
I firmly believe that anyone can come to enjoy, or at least feel they can participate, given the correct introduction.6 -

Well, if that is what their end game has come to, they probably should look at some survival games such as Rust and DayZ which more closely match what they are looking for.PCEU
