As much as I enjoy this game, it is so embarrassing trying to get a friend to play the game and going through their inventory to tell them what is junk and what to keep. Not long ago I was in that situation and I was shocked at how much garbage is in this game. I'm just not used to it as I have addons that auto sift garbage.

I gave up trying to clear his inventory every hour and just installed addons. I have no idea how console players play Elder Garbage Online. This game would be unplayable without addons / ESO+.

ZOS needs to go through the existing items in the game and really ask if they are even needed.

    Examples:
    1. Why have alchemy solvents / waters of different levels - Provisioning doesnt have level locked ingredients, in fact, many purple ingredients make foods without level restrictions.
    2. Why does Jejota even exist? Ta - Daily writs, Denata - Leveling alts / Furniture, Rekuta - Poor mans kuta, Kuta - BIS. Jejota has no real use in actual enchanting, used in a handful of furnishings.
    3. Do we really need trait items (Nirn excluded) to craft armor and weapons? They are so ridiculous abundant that they are worth next to nothing, the only purpose these items serve is clutter.
    4. Jewelry crafting, same as 3 with regards to Robust, Arcane, Healthy. All this pulverised nonsense is just to push people into the craft bag.
    5. Every 'requires 10' item should be seriously re-evaluated.

ZOS should really start looking at ESO with a 'less is more' philosophy. Some people may wonder if ZOS even plays their own game. I think they do, and that, surprisingly is the problem. As a vet EGO (Elder Garbage Online) player I take for granted my knowledge on the items, and the large portions of garbage I have been able to auto sift through. If there was less garbage in the game, the bank space wouldn't need to be increased, it would just be much more manageable naturally, without needing all the addons to make the game functional.

When showing my friend this game, it wasn't just the items that clogged him up, he asked what divine items were, and I told him it increases his Mundus. He had no idea what a mundus stone was, and he started in Morrowind, with no mundus stones. He had no clue about the story going on, no clue about the ideal gear setup, and to boot he was carrying 7 out of 10 pieces required to refine a kitchen sink. Even after installing all the addons on his PC, he got to level ~20 and just gave up. It was sad, but I honestly don't blame him, I felt bad and apologised for recommending this game to him.

    100% agree

As a newer player to the game (I started 2 weeks ago) the wife and I are already seeing the bank/bag space issue.

The wife filled up her bag with stolen items :o that she cant put into the bank. And I'm trying all of the classes as I do not know what class that I want to main at this point, along with saving some stuff for the Necromancer next month. So the bank is full of lower level gear that I am saving for those other classes as they level up, and also for researching traits that looks to be an almost endless task.

Looking at some of the other posts in this thread, I may need to look into what it takes to make a guild for the common storage that would give us.

We have discussed getting some of my wife's friends to try ESO if we buy the basic game for them to try out, but we don't know if the game is really playable without having the ESO+ for crafting bag space.

I have suggested more than a few times an addition that would seem palatable to Zos. An armory.

The Armory would/could hold any and all bound armor and weapons. A virtually bottomless bag like the crafting bag. Yes, it would be part of ESO plus which is why it seems to be a shoe in for them to give serious consideration.

With that I have two suggestions for QoL,

Put set names at the start of all pieces of gear. That is not consistent ATM. This should happen regardless.
Permit us to group gear into bundles.

I just don't have any issues with the bag/bank space now. I get rid of stuff on a regular basis; sure, I *might* need a level 4 War Maiden's Robe in the future. But not really likely. If my lowest toon is level 16, why would I keep stuff that level (which she can't use as wrong weight or weapon) or lower?

And since I don't play anything but PVE, and don't do group content.... well.... I don't need all that stuff. Works for me. I'm not saying more space shouldn't happen, just that it's not real important to me personally.

Increasing bank space won't help someone like me.

My main has 2 guild banks with 500 slots each, 480 bank spaces ad 5 characters with 200 slots - and every time we have an event I spend half my time juggling inventory. I won't mention my other 2 accounts....

Yes, please. More bank space, more bag space, and more storage containers, and more upgrades for bag/bank/containers, and pack mule too, please, and more slots for furniture in house, and armory, and mannequins as well, please. Please, more of everything, and please much more. Thank you.

Maybe my personal plan of Oblivion would work? With unlimited storage possibilities. B)

No jokes, we need upgrades of everything, inventory management become harder with every new patch and every new event with all those new things.

@idk that armory idea sounds interesting but that might be to much :) Imagine how much more we would HOARD !!! Also think about the trait / style /enchant options for the same item I would have so many versions of the same set

@Thorvik_Tyrson yes the inventory management is the end game :) but stolen items is even further than I would go. Sell them! I hoard a lot but on my max level chars and only keep items CP160 anything under it is just not worth it.

Hoarding is the reason people want more bank space so it seems to be an odd complaint against the idea.

If Zos wanted to curb or control hoarding they would merely not add any more storage capacity via any design.

I don't mind more space, but the saddlebags are UGLY. I didn't know they appear once you hit a specific amount at the stable.

I won't buy saddle bag space just for that reason

But I haven't found space to be an issue, and I do not have anywhere near the space other people have. Got a bank of 220 and either 80 or 90 on each character

When Im questing and charatcer fills up with items, pop out the banker and put stuff in. When the bank gets full, log in my crafter and break stuff down. Doesn't take long and it adds to my mats.

I don't know what the big deal is.

What I Would like to see is furniture that is trophy cases to put monster trophies in. (On the off chance that I actually get one some day)

Are you running trials? Do you swap gear often ? Do you gear up alts properly ? If not that is why you don't require space ;) Or on the other hand maybe you are very good managing your items! kudos

Its not a complain agains your idea. It is more me saying that if I would have 'infinite armory space' I would hoard even more. I would literally never throw out any set items and just put them there despite of trait / enchant etc....:wink:

    No, and yes.

No because just adding 10,20,100 slots at a in game price or in the crown store accomplishes nothing for the game, just a tad for the bottom line.

Yes if it was tied to those who take, a crafting method perhaps, a different route, and not an easy route, to getting the extra bag space.

The craft bag is enough unlimited for one game. Inventory needs to be a tension part of the game.

Didn't think about getting space crafted! That idea is very cool. WOW had bag crafting. I am not big on housing or furniture so I will ask: are there ways to craft space for house. If not -> WHY NOT!? That is a great idea !

To counter this, i made a guild with newbies that i hoped would all eventually become inactive players (i got maybe 50 or so. Only needed 10 to become inactive) and then reap the rewards of a 500 slot bank. Unfortunately i underestimated how helpful our community is (possibly myself included) and everyone stayed. This guild is now growing without any sign of slowing down XD

Instead of ESO+ it should be native to the game, but offer a big advantage to being ESO+.

Firstly, crafted gear, if you complete a master writ, you should have it unlocked account wide. IE, if you complete a purple sword, nord style, with infused trait of a certain set, then you do another writ that is the same sword of the same set but gold, sharpened, and wood elf, the end result should be a Gold Sword of that set with the choice of Sharpened / Infused and the choice of Nord / Wood Elf style. So you constantly add styles / traits to your collection as you do writs. This is all available to the player under a new tab similar to the collections tab. Jewelry writs should drop far less frequently, and once completed, never drop again.

Secondly, as for Trial / Overworld / Dungeon sets, there should be a daily quest giver that asks you to retrieve an item from a particular zone. Similar concept as crafted. You slow add items into your armory. The more characters you have taking these dailies the faster it will go. It occupies a research slot to add an item. Gold items take 24 hours, purple items take 48 hours and you cannot rack up Blue / Green items. If you are ESO+ Gold items are instant and you can take on a new item quest. Purple items are 24 hours.

Lastly, If you add an item with a transmuted trait, the trait that gets added to your armory will be randomly selected from what you do not already have. So if you unlocked 3 traits on a certain weapon and you have a daily armory quest to return another weapon, but you find one with the same trait that you already have, you can transmute it to anything you like but when you go to rack it up, it will randomly land on any of the 6 traits you do not already own. This will also help players that may have farmed 3 sets of Rele armor all divine and golded it all, they can now just transmute the pieces and they will still be of some value.

    The cost of the armory.
    1) If you unlock 1 trait on a piece, only 1 character can use it. 3 traits - 2 characters, 6 traits - 3 characters, all traits - all characters. This means players will still have to hunt down 9 copies of each item. So this will result in MORE farming, not less.
    2) At certain threshold of items added to the armory, you will have to sacrifice a storage chest to which ever guild (Mages / Fighters / Undaunted, who knows). This is to prevent the player having too much storage space. Inventory management is still an important thing, we shouldn't be totally inventory care free.
    3) You cannot draw down the same item. Ie, if you want 2 Daggers, you can use the armory for 1 dagger, but you will need to find another dagger. You can use 1 dagger 1 axe. You cannot use 2 rings from the armory.

Furthermore, ESO+ members have such bank space that they can pre-farm their favorite sets, whereas for non ESO+, they are pretty constrained and will likely have to farm as they get the daily armory quest.

Another requirement for alts to be able to use the armory is they have to have completed certain quests. For instance, if they wish to use Necropotence, they may have to complete the Rivenspire quest line. Plague Dr, Deshaan. Certain Trial / Dungeon sets? They will need to have completed it. This will inspire further questing on alts. I know my alts just gather shards, so dungeons and trials, and that is about it.

As long as they increase the guild bank sizes as well, personally think guild banks should have 1000 slots.

I would personally be happy if they just gave us a nice round number like 500 bank slots 480 never feels like enough to me.

And get rid of the waiting time for bag space on mounts just let us use gold to buy the 60 extra slots like every other storage upgrade system in the game. without the stupid 20 hr cool downs.

They can still keep selling the riding lessons in the crown store, the only ones I have known people to buy with crowns are the riding speed ones anyway.

An level 4 war maiden has limited interest unless you want to use it on necromancer.
Then leveled characters I tended to have them share gear. yes once queued for an dungeon with no gear, that is pretty much definition of fake :)
The broom is nice to indicate no gear.
Has an CP160 Cadwell lost robe however but think I will sell it:)
    https://us.tamrieltradecentre.com/pc/Trade/SearchResult?ItemID=1524&ItemNamePattern=Cadwell's+Lost+Robe&SortBy=Price&Order=asc

Will add an necromancer and since I don't plan to make more characters I will deconstruct gear then used it.
And overland gear is pretty pointless to store as you can buy it back. Yes keep expensive stuff who is bound, gold weapons and purple rings of popular sets. off trait armor who sell for 500 gold you can just buy again.
