ned = nicht
en = du ein

"nicht nur das du ein gimp bist, cheatest auch noch" = "You're not only a gimp but also a cheater"

en = du ein

"nicht nur das du ein gimp bist, cheatest auch noch" = "You're not only a gimp but also a cheater"

Was about to say the same thing (kind of surprised that there were actually two Germans who beat me to it

). Also I looked "gimp" up in the urban dictionary and it says:

"An insult implying that someone is incompetent, stupid, etc. Can also be used to imply that the person is uncool or can't/won't do what everyone else is doing".

So, exactly what it said was: "You're not only incompetent, stupid and uncool, you're also a cheater".

Wouldn't worry myself over it, if I were you. The slang is so bad that even as a German I had to look at that sentence for a few seconds until I realized that it was German, so... that probably says a lot about the person who wrote it.

"From Austria with Rage", it would have been something like... "Heast, ned nua dost a gimp bist, cheatest ah no!"

(And I am guessing the "gimp" might perhaps refer to a costume in all black leather? Or maybe an executioners hood? Just some ideas...)

But yeah, just laugh about it and move on, its not worth getting vexed over! (unless you were -actually- cheating, because then there is that special place in hell for those, right next to child molesters and people who talk at the theater...

whats the logic behind 'insulting' someone in a language they dont understand?
theres a lot of languages out there, its not a suprise when i come accross a new word in my own language every day.... but theres no point in talking gibberish to someone....

Well funnily enough I know gimp as English South African slang from the 50's and 60's. It was used in the context of crippled as in: someone who couldn't run because they had a bad leg was "gimped", he had a "gimpy" leg. Or someone you regarded as useless was a "gimp". Needless to say, I found the graphics program name quite amusing at the time.

That's probably because a lot of us Germans have that weird thing, just like the French, where they feel like everything revolves around them, so naturally everyone else needs to be able to understand their language. I've seen that often enough myself - that German and French people ask stuff in zone chat in their own language (not recruiting for guilds, which would be different). One other time I was in some dungeon, can't remember which one it was, and we kept wiping at the final boss. I was still pretty low level, two of the other guys were too, so then the last dude comes up and starts writing this really long text of what were probably detailed instructions... in French. Yeah, so much for that.
