Eso is so broken right now on console.

Since the free to play event untill now every aspect of the games performance has been absolutely shocking on ps4. From broken battlegrounds to 10 fos cyrodiil, bugged out trials and 10 minute act finders. This stuff makes me and others just close the game as its un playable in its current state. Im running a ps4 pro with 200mb fibre yet the game is just awful. When is zenimax going to look more into fixing the game and less into pumping out broken content? A reply to this topic would be appreciated so much but I'm very doubtfull that i will get one @ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_JessicaFolsom

Console performance has been abhorrent at best since at least Summerset (or at least when they made the changes to fix loading screens), possibly before then, but I can’t remember that long ago.

Don’t hold your breath for a response from ZOS; they barely acknowledge that us peasants exist.

It’s easy to edit posts to remove stuff that might contravene the customs of the forum. That’s clearly within the remit of the mods and they won’t need to filter things up to deal with this. Much harder to get an official ZOS position on an important issue like poor performance.

That said, it’s no excuse for ZOS NOT providing some kind of comment/update about these issues. Players on all platforms want to feel that ZOS appreciates their concerns and that work is being prioritised to remedy performance issues. It would be great to feel that our frustrations weren’t just being vented into a vacuum of indifference.

Seems mostly fine to me. *shrug*

The only thing I've noticed is that we've exchanged frequent problems with muddy textures with occasional and brief (possibly 10 seconds or so) frame rate dips when moving to an area with lots of players. The muddy texture thing was a huge problem, and wouldn't fix itself even after several minutes. I'd call that an improvement relative to where things were.

Are you doing veteran trials such as cloudrest and vas? And also cyrodiil. For me and everyone ive spoken to on ps4 eu its so broken rn.

Hahaha... me... do a vet trial or PvP...

Game stability on those activities has never been good. I doubt anything has changed on that front. It's a small part of the reason I don't bother with either... the larger part being I have zero interest in the competitive gaming scene. The stuff I play works fine... if not better than it has in the past.

Lag was pretty strong this weekend on EU. A few trials we ran were also pretty annoying.

BG's seemed ok (I didn't go to Cyrodiil, so idk). I do think the population has increased a bit too. This is my opinion for NA as well. Hopefully things will start feeling a little more fluid as time marches on.

I will second everything you said and I am on PS4 NA. I was in vet Darkshade I this weekend. The Sentinel and his Steel Cyclone killed me from opposite side of the field (?) plateau (?). I was nowhere near him at the time. Can see very clearly the AOE circle as I changed the color.

HRC, still bugged on the bottom boss as he will sometimes regain all health in the middle of a fight, wipe you, then never appear again. Super-fun now that you have to clear both top and bottom to move on. Cloudrest, the bar-swap boss sometimes won't let you swap bars. Vet Direfrost, Drodda sometimes won't let you break free even with full stamina. And they still haven't fixed the feared-through-walls problem on Crypt of Hearts.

And yeah, Cyrodiil. Got to love being killed by siege weapons you are nowhere near and the inability to swap bars.

I still love the game and continue to play it. But come on, even the small things like porting into a zone and it takes 1-2 minutes for your mount to not run like its claymation?

The texture issue still hasn’t been fixed, each and every time I port in to Vulkhel Guard the ground is just a blur.

Visiting the nearby dolmen? If I rotate the camera angle, everything and everyone disappears, it becomes teletubby land.

Teleporting to most wayshrines results in 1FPS for a good few minutes.

These are just some of the minor issues that I went about reporting in game for a good period and they’re still broken.

I haven’t even set foot in Cyrodiil in the last few weeks because the performance there is unplayable when zergs arrive.
The amount of times I’ve respawned at a camp, dead is ridiculous.
The random load screens - which have started to make an appearance in PVE land, are constant.
When a keep flips, it’s almost guaranteed that at least half of your group blue screens.
Then there’s the lag, the endless load screens.

I do my part, I submit bug reports, I try all the suggestions the support reps post (even though I know it’s futile) but each and every patch it feels like the game gets laggier and even more broken and we get zero response from the developers about what’s being done to fix it.

Yes this would work well. Once people learned that ZOS was actually replying to each and every comment the forum servers would begin to crash from the influx of peeps. Which would actually free up the servers so WIN/WIN!

On Xbox I have pretty severe texture loading issues in Vivec City, Alinor, and heavily-populated base game areas. These range from muddy/blurred textures, to absent (black) textures, to fragmented or nonexistent walls, floors, and staircases. The entrance way to the crafting center in Alinor is one of the worst culprits. I also experience frequent loading issues and game crashes around wayshrines and Undaunted enclaves, especially when there's dueling in progress.

And then there's the infamous cross-eyed bug, which returned when they introduced the texture loading changes that were part of Summerset. I'm surprised that there's not more noise about it on the forums, because it looks goofy beyond belief, on both player characters and NPC's.

Same here. PS4 version has been almost unplayable many times, met with long screen loading times and crashes considerably during peak hours. This just isn't good enough.

I have been playing FFXIV myself lately.

The combat, while not like ESO, has still been fun.

Performance wise, it blows ESO out of the water. You can have 50/60/75 players on screen in PvP, full spell effects going off left and right, and not have a burp or hiccup of lag.
They are stress testing and looking to improve the servers before the release of the new expansion. The smoothest running console mmo I've ever seen. Zos could learn a lot by taking an example from Square.

As to the OP...keep in mind around 80% of forum goers here who complain about performance issues play on PC. I myself play on ps4, but no one can argue PC is a vastly smoother operating system. They can even control performance somewhat by toning down graphics.

If they have performance issues that Zos is unwilling or unable to fix, what hope do we console players have?

    Little to none.

    Two choices remain...
We can continue to play the game as is knowing its probability as good as it's going to get, with a high chance it'll break further the more that's added into it.

Or, if that's unacceptable, we can go off and find something that will actually work. The fact that basic fundamentals like break free, or skills NOT going off when they are supposed to says a lot. Even Xynode's MagDK PvE build had skills not working in his parse. (On PC, no less. Skills weren't going off on PC...again, doesn't bold well for console)

It's too bad too...I love Elder Scrolls lore, I love the combat...ESO could be the greatest mmo out there, if only performance wasn't holding it back. If only it would work on a consistent basis...

Sorry to hear it's not only the EU PC server that sucks. I fail to understand why this company seems so incapable of dealing with this issues and most of the times if feels they are just ignored.

I'm fed up of logging in and either have queue, bugged Dungeon Finder, bugged BG where one team never fills up etc..
Logging to eso is like playing roullete you never know if you will be able to do the things you want with the time you have.

This is the number 1 issue I have right now. There are times it is so bad and will not stop lagging that I have to shut the game down and restart, and it is the worst lag I've ever had in this game, worse than I've seen during cyrodil primetime zerging.

The roulette quip is very accurate.

I only login daily to train horses on 3 characters and retrieve the hireling mails on 2 other characters.
It’s taking at least 20 minutes just to do these few tasks due to the “usually unusually long” loading screens.

    XB1 - NA

Before i read this thread i thought it was just my connection that had issues. Im finding PVE laggy as hell and trials almost unplayable for me. Ran VAA and had to deal with running through my rotation in slow motion and the circle of protection for the storm atronarch not appearing at all or only being highlighted AFTER ive followed the other players because it doesnt appear.

Whereas PVP is somewhat playable for the first time in years. Which is extremely strange and feels like a trade off.

I have the cross-eyed bug... and everytime I turn in sinking summerset I have to stop at the stairs and wait a minute or I get kicked or a loading screen. Lots of texture problems and I usually get kicked traveling from wayshrine to wayshrine once a night. It's a shame... anytime I want to recommend it to a friend I have to tell them these things to be aware of.

The game is utter garbage. Get used to it. Zos does not care. I've been posting about it for years. Morrowind was when it started too get bad and every update since has been downhill.

Zenimax does not care. They will not acknowledge the massive difference between console and PC in performance (and many other things). We have no class reps, which is an issue in itself. We have no class reps with PVP as their main focus.. We have no real voice.

This *** should be top priority. You cannot play vivec effectively on xbox. You cant. You can ball up with 20 people and rely on them, but other than that any player dealing with this *** cannot play the game. Slow laggy game play is not fun. Abilities taking 5 times longer than normal to cast is not fun.

Shor is usually fine, but usually dead. And even when its populated its alright, but vivec is worthless. Now during this event everything is a mess. Vivec is still in ruins. Shor was bad this weekend but seems to have gotten better today.

The reality of the situation is that zos doesn't care. Any employee who sees this thread will ignore it. And if im wrong, and they are working on it, their communication is inexcusable. In fact, their communication IS inexcusable regardless.

Instead of working on console QOL, or better yet the abhorrent performance, they are doing things like eso logs. Wasting time on things that PC players pretty much already have with add ons. There is no solace and there is no change. Things are now as they have been for years. Deal with it or leave. No platform transfers. No communication. No light at the end of the tunnel. Just a terrible development team who doesn't care about 2/3 of its community. Apparently, since they dont communicate.

Another great comment.. Just like role players saying they have no performance issues. Well I can tell you what i expect, at least. What I expect is a game developer to maintain a game when they put it on a platform and advertise it for certain things. Things such as large scale pvp fights. Do you pvp? Because vivec on PC is pretty bad too, not as bad as xbox imo but pretty bad. This game worked fine before morrowind, zos changed things not xbox.

If every game worked like eso does on console then console wouldn't exist. Every game ive ever played, even other mmos, have nowhere near the issues that thhis game does. BDO, for example, doesn't have the issues on xbox that eso does. The performance issue is on zos' end. It always has been and it always will be unless they change it. But considering the silence i dont think they will.

Maybe this game should have never been brought to console but that was their choice.
