So why arent there hirelings for these 2?

The other 5 professions have them but it just seems weird that alchemy and jewelry crafting dont

Zos, I think we need to fix something, hint hint

there is, sort of, an alchemy hireling, but only if you also have db and have leveled its skill line to at least 4th. The shadowy supplier offers an option that might give you alchemy ingredients. But they wanted to make jewelry harder, and alchemy is generally ridiculously easy to gather ingredients in (plus i've heard that you can buy them with telvar in the IC).

ZoS' previous statements have said there there "Isn't anything 'rare'" in alchemy, which is why there is no hireling. You can buy waxed apothocary parcels in IC for 500 TelVar each, which is actually a pretty efficient way to get those materials, as they contain like 15-18 items in them.

Jewelry crafting... I don't know why it isn't there. Having an additional source of Zircon and Chromium grains would help bring prices down some, but not too far that the Golden becomes irrelevant.

Granted, that is no longer the case. If that's their reasoning, then I hope they'll add Hirelings for alchemy eventually.

Writs are your Hireling for Alchemy. They are a net gain in mats doing them.

Yes, Provisioning does this and has a hireling, but at least it is something. Then again, provisioning does not get Surveys. People have been wondering/asking about the provisioning hireling since Beta. ZOS does not seem to be of a mind to offer one, probably because Alchemy mats are so abundant. At least outside of Cyrodiil. Man, I would not want to support my habit just in that zone.

Same with JC you get the same level tier mats back about 40% of what you spent making the items usually
