wait a minute - isn't don't stand in stupid (red circles and other obvious ominous signs) a thing in all of tamriel?

To be fair, sometimes you're killed before you're even out of the loading screen.

I know, I was just kidding...it's sad cuz people still do camp those quest houses for that same reason - as you phase into the structure, you're character is extremely vulnerable for a second or two - enough time for someone(s) to be able to bring you down before you can even react...
Make sure to call out in zone chat that its an ganker inside the quest house at the town.
    And follow the zone chat..

Last night someone was calling out in game chat about gankers camping a certain city. You know what the responses were?

"So kill them, dumba$$!" <<--- Those exact words, from more than one person.

Someone called out for help or to warn other questers, and were basically told to eff off. Why would you bother to shout out in chat if this was what you were going to get? Another example of the shining pinnacles of humanity inhabiting Cyrodiil this week.

If you really don't understand what he said, then it's you that needs to L2P.

So tell me, what is there to learn about going through a door and getting killed before your loading screen allows you to see what's happening on the other side? Loading screen disappears, you're dead. Choose where to respawn - but not here! Go back to the extreme opposite side of the country where your color's gates are! You have another 15 minutes to spend riding around the hole in the middle of the country, don't you?

Please, enlighten us. What tactics would you use against that? Wiggle your fingers at the screen and say "abracadabra?" Better yet! Maybe if you say "avada Kedavra" you will kill them instead!

    Ridiculous!

I think the groups circle jerking around the quest givers spamming AOE’s that instantly kill you no matter what you do are shills for ZOS trying to funnel players into buying event tickets to get the Abnur Tharn style. That’s my tin foil hat theory.

@geonsocal, it would be nice to say you can just "get out of red", but what I saw an AD tourist-farm group of 5 use in Cropsford was:
    • Warden rune at entrance instantly teleports anyone entering the quest-giver building to a different location and do a disorient/stun
    • Daedric mines already planted at said location do high damage instantly (18k or so, probably 2 sorcs)
    • AOEs from the remaining griefers take off your remaining health
    • Chance of survival for anyone entering: zero
I saw something similar inside the Chapel in Bruma (without the warden rune), but also using daedric mines and a bunch of AOEs constantly cast in the entrance area, plus players blocking entrance to the inner part of the chapel even if you COULD break cc and try dodge-roll out.

Lol!!! Griefers? We police our own in PvP. It is a fairly small community. We know most everybody so we all band together and rally against pve during this event.

It's not so much an exploit as it's just poor design. They could honestly have made the inside of the houses where it gives a full immunity buff for everyone that enters regardless of faction.

ESO has grown larger and now this design issue is being highlighted. Waiting behind load screens is bad sportsmanship.

Most of the folks that do stuff like this don't know how to play and are using folks to farm point.

How do I know they don't know what they are doing, because when I ran across this in Bruma I saw that they put all their stuff on one door without realizing there was one behind them,,,,,Add a couple of random folks grouping up and sharing this knowledge with them and Guess what happened next.

And if someone like me who goes into Cyrodiil less than a dozen times a year can figure this out, Well.....

Put the quest givers outside IMO. As frustrating as it is an ambush is a valid tactic. Too bad you can’t just siege the building and open it up.

I was that guy who make you die with aoe in house.
Got 100-150k ap without lowpop bonus for 10 min.
It was fun, after 10 min farming blues come to house in 30ppl same time and kill us 5 hard.
Next time i would use few meatbags and coldharbour ballistas inside.
And tbh it's the funniest pvp content that devs provide us since summerset launch.

lol at git gud part. That's just gamer talk and you take it so serious as if they are spelling it bad on purpose. How old is the eso player base that don't pvp at all? They come in there thinking everyone is an exploiter or a hackerman

DISCLAIMER: I despise PVP. I despise it because no one, ever, in the history of gaming has ever been able to control "greifers" and bad behavior disguised as "play".

That said, like many, many "tourists" who do not PVP, I went to the holy grail of Cyrodil this week, to get my boxes. First time there. Pretty place. Expected to die every second, but as I was there and stumbled into "dailies", and started doing those, it took awhile for someone, somewhere in the boonies to jump me. Shrug it off, learn the spawn and transit system.

So on day two, in Bruma, in what I think is a quest giver house, upon entering, I am immediately killed by what I later learn from those who know such things, as persistent AOE from a group of opposing faction players, although I hesitate to call them players because why insult the term players?

Anyway. some said it was an exploit, some said it was just your ordinary grief-er , and of course some said "git gud", as if bad spelling was somehow an antidote to anything.

I don't really care about getting grief-ed, after the second time and learning, I stayed away from the house. But, which is it? Exploit or what?

Reminds me of that time when I went to bruma chapel only to get ~10 shooting stars dropped on my head immediatly after passing through doors...

    Its not.
    Have you tried Imperial City?
    .
    .
    .
    I dont think so

Let me tell you about it.
Imperial City has districts with bosses and people camp around bosses and flags all the time
What you are saying is you are getting ganked due to load screens
    hmm
Tell that to all the people who got ganked after using the key fragments in districts. Its even worse.

What you are implying is that
I am soloing a Boss in Imperial city and other alliances should show concern and humanity and sympathy to leave you alone and let you farm since bosses dont count in Alliance wars.

I mean...it's exploit-adjacent. It's certainly an exploit in the sense that it's taking advantage of a design weakness. It's probably NOT an exploit in the sense of violating TOS in an actionable manner.

But this kind of emergent gameplay has always been around, and often central, to Cyro PvP (particularly farm groups looking to milk AP out of pugs).

Tower farms (obviously ZOS took action against the traditional "downstairs" farm by removing the doors)
Roof farms (ZOS is working on this with the fix to "cathedral type" keeps)
Various terrain farms, often initiated with scrolls
    Ring-around-the-tree style "1vX"
and now town NPC building farms, as the quests are incentivized highly at the moment.

All of these hinge on a design weakness and/or "clever gameplay."

It's not "roleplay", it's griefing. Just like it wasnt "roleplay" when people were flipping the one outpost (or keep resource?), it was exploiting.

well, in the sewers it was complained about that for a time when you would load in through the laddars they would kill you before you got a chance to even do anything because of lagg, you would load in dead.
they eventually fixed it to where u were safe for a short period upon loading, sounds like something similar is happening with that house but, i dont know how it could be reportable, kinda of a grey area, just like years ago they had that mistake where people could load to the other alliances safe zone, and they were killing people that were afk, they came out and called it a "grey area"

They also took the doors off of keeps for exactly the same reason.

Farming players who are immobilized from entering a door is most certainly an exploit, and I've been reporting all players I've come across doing so as exploiters.

    This.

Problem is ball groups / scroll runners etc would exploit this advantage. This is an active campaign; not your questing zone. Take your Ls and move on.

i remember one time down by vlastrus i was in the house by the central flag...ported in, and, someone attacked me inside...we fought, i won, and, proceeded to kill the next 3 people who came in the door - i just wasn't taking any chances...finally two tanks came in that i couldn't kill, and, that was the beginning of the end for my brief renegade behavior...

It's not an exploit, but it does suck and is immensely frustrating. It's just something that weak players do to pad their kill count since they likely can't kill someone in an actual real fight, not much different than running with a zerg. There is nothing to do but shrug it off, make note of their names so you can make sure to boot them from any group of yours they happen to wander into, and move on with your gaming. People can be absolute garbage, and when you add in anonymity, pathological insecurity, and group-think, they get even worse.

If those AoEs are right behind a door, you can't see anything. And you can't get inside since you are dead before your loading screen ends.

Inside the building is where the objective ends. This is why they took doors off of towers and give invulnerability after loading screen in Imperial City. Did you read any of the thread?
