Why don't we see any tailless war veterans?

For all we know none of the known armor protects the tail of khajiits and argonians
You'd think way more fighters will take advantage of that during a fight :p
Why haven't we see any of khajiiti or argonian fighters without their tails?

Edit: Now think about it....argonians probably can grow back their tails...khajits tho

Because this isn't Dragon Ball Z and the warriors of Tamriel are not filthy tail grabbers.

There's an npc in Bleakrock who claims his foot was bitten off by Hackwing, but he clearly hstill has 2 feet (unless he had 3 to start with). I think it's just too much effort on the character modelling to remove body parts. If they could, players'd be asking for hook hands and peg legs on their characters.

Should be a synergy execute where you chop the khajits tail off and finish it off by whipping it to death with it's severed tail.

    Yes pirate accessories please!
Playing your character the way your character should play is all that matters. Play as well as you can but never betray the character. Doing so would make playing an mmoRPG pointless.

I'm assuming that for Argonians at least, they can regrow their tales the way some lizards can :D

Healing spells. If you survive and can be healed then your tail can be restored.

If a Khajiit warrior claims to be a skilled veteran, but still lost their tail, theyre doing something very wrong. If you tried going for their tail and they were competent, theyd never let you get close.

Well basically because they can't be bothered making a lot of variety in NPCs... its just cut and paste and slap some random armour and outfits and stuff on.

Some armour at least, for Khajiit and Argonian tails, would that be too much to ask? Some of the outfits/costumes, having the tail just poke through... doesn't seem realistic nor work very well.

I'm not sure cutting a khajiits tail off would have much benefit in battle. It would hurt of course and maybe for the suthay (who walk on their toes) it would affect their balance but I don't think it would affect them in the same way as losing, or even seriously injuring, another limb. So it's probably not worth the hassle for an enemy to aim for the tail, and between that and the fact that they probably feel very uncomfortable if they can't move it freely it's probably not worth armouring it and better to just move it out the way. Khajiit armour generally favours movement over protection, even their heavy armour only has cloth sleeves so your arms can move freely, and fingerless gloves.

I'm less sure about argonians, although I agree that they can probably grow their tails back so that means they probably don't worry about it as much.

(And yes I realise the real reason is probably that it's not worth designing and animating tail armour just for 2 races, but I'm looking for lore reasons here.)

In another game I play they actually do give players the option for hook hands and peg legs using their equivalent of the outfit system - the hook hand and wooden leg styles hide your actual hand or foot and replace it. Considering we've got polymorphs that change your entire character model into something else I'm sure ZOS could do something similar.
