PvP is not something I enjoy. I would appeal to all the regular Cyrodiil players that the event is for everybody and ask them to leave players obviously uninterested in fighting them alone. But I can see by many of the responses that a lot of players get a kick out of specifically targeting "PvE players." If there wasn't an event happening I would say fine, do that. But apparently I don't have the right to get a reward box unless I want to fight you. Yes I realize it's a PvP zone. Only the event makes me wish that just this week people would behave a bit differently. But they won't so I'm going to eat my cake and do other things. Hopefully I can get the Tharn pages in week 5 because I really like his outfit and would like to experiment with dyeing it different colors.

Honestly, you need to accept the fact that you and other non-PVP people will be picked off because ap = ap, and PVE'rs are easy AP. With that said, if you're in a guild I suggest you try to group with people more experienced in PVP.

Yes actually I do accept that fact which is why I will be doing other things this week and not going into Cyrodiil. I'm going to ask my guild mates for some advice on gear but the times I usually play aren't really conducive to grouping (late evening). But PvP is not fun for me and I'll likely just avoid the zone like I always do.

Exactly. People are having difficulties even getting in to a campaign because they are all hitting capacity. I’ll just get my 50k per day crafting and buy what I want.

The market will only be flooded if people pvp. Also, many of the quests are not giving boxes. Even if there's a better drop rate than week 2, if the boxes don't drop, neither do the pages.

It was a lot of fun on PC/NA Shor this morning!

I took my PVE DD stam sorc out to do some of the town dailies. I decided I wasn't going to bother anyone if they were on a different alliance.

At first, EP had control of Cropsford. Lots of Red Shields running around - it felt really safe and fun (since I'm on EP). There was this one DC quester I felt so bad for because he'd run in to turn in his quest, then the flag guards would pile on him, and he'd have to turn tail and run!

There was one DC ganker, who killed me. Oh well, I just reminded myself that I'm on my PVE build and not striking first. Rezzed up, by the time I got back to Cropsford, some other EP players had cleared him off. The Cropsford EP players were really good about keeping zone chat active with warnings if they were under attack so that questers knew to be wary when entering the town. I also saw several of the active PVPers responding to those warnings and helping defend the town.

I moved on to Cheydinhal, so I wasn't there in Cropsford when the new AD emperor got crowned and promptly led their group to Cropsford so AD could get their turn in at the questing.

Again, lots of EP at Cheydinhal, except for the time an AD guy showed up right next to me at the quest NPC to turn in a quest. We just sort of looked at each other, turned in the quest, and went our merry way.

A lot of PVP is in how you approach it. If you go in with the attitude that you'll get horribly slaughtering while grinding for boxes, it probably won't be much fun. I take the approach of "Its PVP. I'm probably going to get horribly slaughtered, I'm going to do my best not to horribly slaughter some poor quester, and I'll get however many boxes I get while still having a good time."

And I did have a great time! Also, 18 reward boxes, and an Abnur Tharn Jerkin.

Indeed it was fun! I was in campaign on DC's side and we had Bruma with overwhelming numbers running the city quests. Dozens of DC players there and then I noticed a brave AD player running all the quests with us. They were there for ages with no one bothering them until suddenly everyone got savage.

    I have a stupid, semi-related question.

I roam around Tamriel with my clannfear. I want to go to Cyrodill, but have no intentions of killing innocent bystanders (aka other players who want to live and let live) when doing my dailies. Will my pet attack on sight, or only if the other player(s) engage?

As a PVP/PVE player, if I encounter someone in Cyrodil who has a thing over their head that is a different color than the thing over my head, I am not going to ask them if they are a PVE or PVP player. I am going to kill them first (or attempt to). Why? Because PVP players are also participating in this event and we are in a PVP zone, and I will be on PVP toons running this event for that very reason. If you don't want to be easy prey, respec your toon for PVP this week if you are going to take it into Cyrodil.

I haven't run a pet sorc in Cyro for a long time, but players count as enemies. So I think it would, if they were within aggro range.

While I don't think the market in Week 5 will be flooded like Week 1, I do think that there will be plenty of tharn pages earned during week 5 that price will not be an issue. Sure, PvPers will list their pages at astronomical prices to start, but by week 5, when I'm back to doing crafting dailies on all my characters, plus easy dailies like the Crowfeather, I'll get more than enough pages of all styles for myself or to sell (well, except for Prophet pages). I'll also be earning all the usual gold I do from the crafting dailies themselves.

Plus, Tharn pages won't be nearly as rare as Sahan pages will be next week. Players won't be able to earn nearly as many boxes per day next week.

No reason for any PvEer to worry about this week at all.

ETA: I've read reports that there have been no issues with boxes dropping from the town dailies, which is where I would suspect most players will be getting their boxes.

FYI: Scouting reports did not reward a box today. Don't know if this is a bug. If it's intentional, it's dirty on zos' part IMO as these events require farming as much as possible to get the items with the horrible RNG, so by eliminating something maybe deemed as to easy it comes off as rule changing at the last minute IMO.

During the Midyear Mayhem event I put on a poverty costume and outfitted my weapons in basic style and stood around the town questgivers waiting to put the smackdown on some gankers..... but they never came. So I ended up doing hundreds of town quests, and never got in a single fight. Saw a few of the enemy in delves, but we kinda eyed each other and went on about our quest business, even killing some Bosses together and then going our separate ways.

Ok, I know It is a bit dumb but I will quote myself:
I just wanted to point out that some of the Daily board quest in Cyrodiil seem not to reward you with the Event Boxes.
    https://www.elderscrollsonline.com/en-us/news/post/55981

"Fight your fellow players! Complete Alliance War and Battlegrounds daily quests to earn Gift Boxes that have a chance to also include Abnur Tharn Outfit Style pages. This includes Cyrodiil Town dailies, all Board missions, the Cyrodiil dailies, the Battlegrounds dailies, and Imperial City dailies."

This includes scouting board & some others. Cant tell if all daily quests are affected by that, since quest you get is random.
I have done 4 daily from Cyrodiil Alliance War board quest and I got only 2 Event Boxes.

    Apparently I was right :D :
    https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/469558/hotfix-4-18-gift-boxes-for-cyrodiil-board-quests#latest

"This afternoon, we’ll be performing a hotfix on all platforms and megaservers that will allow you to obtain an Anniversary Jubilee Gift Box from Cyrodiil Board Quests (these consist of “Kill 20...” quests, Scouting quests, and Capture quests). We’ll let you know as soon as this hotfix is complete; it will not require any downtime. "

I was soloing a dolmen yesterday, and had the final Xivkyn almost dead when a ganker, who had been watching the whole thing attacked me and killed me. Last thing I saw before I reloaded into the keep was the Boss kicking the crap out of the guy, lol! And when I got back to the dolmen the Boss was still there waiting for me to finish him off.
