Dear ZOS; Why are there bugs that were a thing since beta.. still present?

Title says it all.. the most common and by far the most frustrating one?
"Cant mount while in combat"
Before i posted this.. i was at Alessia farm.. just finished up a quick 1v2.. i start running up.. i pass Sejanus.. still cant mount because im in combat.. haven't seen no one..
i run up to BRK.. still in combat.. still cant mount.. i run up to Bleakers.. roughly 10-15mins later because im on a mag toon and can only sprint so much.. still cant mount.. still in combat..
i finally die to a zerg only for this process to happen one more time before i made this post.

Funny thing is? I remember this bug being well known in the beta.. well known in the first, and second, and third, and fourth, fifth etc DLC, Morrowind and Summerset chapters.. why hasn't this been fixed yet ZOS? Im really thinking about taking up a programming degree to come and help you guys fix such a simple, yet frustrating bug. I mean.. fixing a stuck in combat bug cant be THAT hard.. especially if that hasnt been a thing in WoW and its been out since 04'.

Sad thing is.. this isnt the only bug thats been here since Beta.

Edit; Grammar fixes.

@ZOS_Gilliam is working it. According to one of the livestreams, he's got a huge spreadsheet specifically focused on dealing with this issue. So, while it's been a thorn in our sides for years, it is now on the docket.

i think you must be illiterate.
If you actually read the post, you would see what bug i find the MOST frustrating.

    Since you want specifics..
Cant mount in combat when you havent seen a soul in 10+ mins
Not being able to cast skills for 2-3 seconds after being CC'd
    Abilities being grayed out
3 bugs that ive personally noticed within the past week, and also noticed 5 years ago in beta.

They probably can’t fix it now because that code is so buried in other code and they would have to dismantle the game.

All I have to say on the bug part. If they where on the bug list from day one they wouldn't be in this boat trust me there are a lot of bugs in the game not gonna list em eyes would bleed after a while.

    >Disabling UI also disables controller inputs specifically the interact button (been a bug since they gave us gamepad UI)

    >The skeleton mini boss that comes out after activating the pillars in one of the dungeons still causes people to walk out of bounds when his fear effect takes place.

    >Random running on your horses back

    >Animations stop displaying mid-combat sometimes (especially in PVE)

These are the bugs I can think of since beta. Here are a few changes they made that were IMO downgrades since beta.

    1) Knocking NCP's off ledges. Now an invisible wall stops them

    2) Jumping off slopes to go faster

    3) Being able to hold your bow draw

    4) Making mage light toggle effect (used to be perm ball of light around u)

I read the OP and they are complaining about bugs that have been in the game since beta, but lists a bug that was added last year.

I can understand no everyone has played this game continuously since the game launched but the in-combat issue present in the game at launch was mostly fixed. Only saw it sometimes when using regen, but not like before. More importantly it was nothing like it is currently.

If you have issues there is always an uninstall button. You little kids keep complaining about stuff I’m pretty sure have no idea how a huge MMO like ESO runs or ability fix bugs. So either you live with it and accept fact they know there are issues and are working on them. Or be and adult and just leave if you can’t handle it. You have to be a real special kinda of stupid if you think bugs and errors in a large MMO are easy to fix especially when you can’t take server down for a large amount of time. Cause lord knows if they take server down for any amount of time you all start bitching about it. GROW UP

Mhm WoW is even bigger but game breaking bugs was fixed within hours or days, not months/years. What about things like Shadowy Image and Undo bugged - ZOS only once said some blurry things about image few months ago and since then nothing happens. These skills have influence directly on combat but still ZOS pretends there is no issue with them.

Stuck in combat bug is mostly convenience bug, but there are things like I mentioned above that have influence on combat flow, things like that can't wait years for getting fixed.

Also they don't do testing and bug fixing on live server, that would be suicide, they wouldn't be able to work on updates and DLC and so on, so it's you who clearly have no idea how things are done. ZOS as a game dev shows lack of experience, they want to work but they don't know how.

In other words, if I would buy a service from IT company and they would work like ZOS does, they would be fired after few months. If things are to hard to fix for them, maybe they should use outsourcing services to hire someone who actually knows how to code.
I'm done with this game because of ZOS pushing us into Vengeance, because they don't know how to fix Cyrodiil.

The ability to rapidly deposit/withdraw items from guild bank would be great, instead of the constant " waiting on previous action" message... Pretty sure that has been around since beta, and quite frustrating when trying to move large amounts of items around.

there is by far a huge difference between this game and WoW graphics, sound, environment, animation, etc. so comparing the two is like comparing Baseball and football. I'm pretty sure there are a lot of WoW players that have left the game that would argue with you on what you have to say about bugs fixed within hours or days.

Yes, things can wait years guess what your still here many other players are still here and will continue to be here I'm sure for a long while.

Of course they have their own test server, but what happens on one doesn't necessarily means it transitions to the live public server correctly or acts way it was tested for. I'm sorry not pointing that out in the first post that is my bad. I just figured you would be smart enough to pickup on that.

The issue is not that they cannot take the servers down for large amount of time, they dont have to.
They have threir own private test server for the testing and fixing.
The real issue is that they could not reproduce all of the reported bugs there so they do not know where the rotten part of the spaggeti code is.

I get "cant mount in combat" bug at LEAST 3-4 times a day.. i play for about 4-5 hours a day. This bug will appear even when i havent touched a soul in 10+ minutes.. itll still be there after ive died and respawned.. its pathetic on ZOS's end.
Ive even gotten a video where i put an object on my keyboard to keep my walking into a wall while i went out with friends.. came back almost 2 hours later.. still in combat. Its absolutely ridiculous.

guarantee you, if i was a professional programmer.. it wont take me 5+ years to fix ONE bug.

And i have clicked that uninstall button.. havent touched ESO in half a year.. half a year later.. those bugs from beta still exist. Game just gets worse and worse with every update. Guarantee you ESO is only coming back in numbers because of the Necro class. It was slowly dropping at a steady pace until Necro was announced + dragons.

The thing is. the players that actually had a name in the community and realllyyy helped get ESO out there, no longer play ESO.
    Kodi? Gone.
    Sypher? Gone.
    King Richard? Gone.
Fengrush? Eh, he was gone for a while.
Howiekier? (Had highest StamBlade parse at one time) Gone.
*2 others that mained Nightblade but i cant remember there names, very skilled and well known PvPers*

Only big names i can think of that play ESO more than 2-3 times a week, is Fengrush and Dottzgaming. Thats it.

Well your not a professional coder so your statement is pretty dumb say it wouldn’t take you this long on bugs sense you have no basis back it up. Lol If I was a professional doctor I’d cure all diseases out there wouldn’t take this long find cute lol

ESO only coming back because of necro class really id like to see those numbers and facts backing that statement your throwing out there. And if you uninstalled and coming back after you paid for the new expansion for the class why heck are you complaining about bugs you originally quit from? I mean heck you’ve just paid them money for expansion your going to complain about having issues since launch? That’s pretty dumb.

As for players you mentioned I’ve never heard of them. That make them any less famous? Lots of players have come and gone for whatever reason nature of MMO ‘s and games in general. Heck I could name players too that mean you going to know them or that they represent the player base no it doesn’t.

So pretty much in the end all you are doing is complaining perhaps you should just uninstall again and find a game that better suits you

Well, if this is related to the combat bug heres how it works.

You apply damage to said player, that player lives. You stay in combat and so do they, also with ESO you noticed when you res DOTs stay? I'm pretty sure they don't instance a clean version of your character, its just take what was dead put here with max resources lol

This is the kind of attitude ZOS has been doing towards the community and it's this same type of dismissive attitude that makes people unsub or quit. Not exactly good for a game that wants to sell a live service (in the form of ESO+), if the service is borked. They can market and promote new shiny things like expansions but eventually the new players will encounter these same bugs and go to the forums to complain. You'll keep seeing these same types of threads if the problems persist. I've heard new players complaining about Cyrodiil disconnects and Bags queue today, all I could say is that it's a feature at this point and that it happens to me too. You're right, ZOS says they're aware and are working on it, like the infinite loading screens or random disconnects or login queues or group finder not working properly or server performance problems. They've been aware since 2017 or longer for some of these but they're still just not fixed. Ultimately, I do agree with you and it's best to find a different game to play if it's frustrating. Like today, I got DC'ed porting in Cyrodiil and it wouldn't let me log on. I stopped playing and went on FFXIV. I've pre-ordered the coming FF expansion but not the ESO one because I had the same problems on PTS trying out Elsweyr. And I've been experiencing the same bugs over and over again, like combat bug OP described or sprint bug or infinite loadscreens.

In one shape or another all MMO have people complaining like this or similar to it. All claim game is dieing or company doesn’t care blah blah blah. The point is when you get down to is if you can live with these issues. Bitching about does nothing absolutely nothing. You think developers, coders, anybody tied game doesn’t know or has heard about issues? Gamers are one of the biggest whiners and complainers I have ever had music fortune to see. If it’s not something it’s another that causes them pain and anguish. I’ve been kicked out of Cryodiil I’ve had loading screens that are endless at times they can be frustrating. It bottom line is i also understand that to a degree it’s just part of the game either right now or forever for myself I can live with that. If I can’t I walk away like an adult go separate ways.

So as I stated either you can or your can’t live with these known issues. If you can’t walk away and uninstall no need for stupid pointless crap that has already been brought up numerous times
When asked what he would do for a Klondike bar. Grand Moff Tarkin said "why I would blow up Alderaan."

GROW UP

I don’t know about you, but me, and many other people that are complaining about it, I paid for the game and continue to pay for a subscription. So, we have the right to complain as we please. We continue to pay and have paid a base fee expecting the game to run smoothly, and quite frankly it doesn’t. The servers are trash, The engine is horrible, there are still bugs from beta, there are still a few game changing bugs, they have been an issue for many months.
