Character Creation - include previews with our unlocked skins, etc.?

I'm just curious if I'm the only one who would like the ability to preview my new character wearing my costumes or skins before committing? Sometimes I make a character purely for the sake of wearing something I've bought or unlocked but I can't get the skin tones just right and it'd be great if I could preview them the same way we preview with the No Gear/Novice Gear/Champion Gear toggle. Am I alone in this?

Agreed. I would also like the crown store hairstyles, tattoos etc to be available in character creation.

You are not alone, I was thinking about it too. Some haistyles change hair colour a lot, for example, my red head nord girl is almost blond with River Braids hairstyle. I’d really appreciate being able to try all my cosmetics in game during character creation.

This. This. A thousand times this. We should be able to apply hairstyles and tattoos and what not from the character creator. Always annoys me when an equipped hairstyle or tattoo gets overwritten during a quest where we have to wear a disguise. Just make it a part of our model. Also, allow us to change the color of our tattoos and make them actually show up as a vampire.

As for in game additions, being able to due our hair would be great. That and letting us dye our hair any color in the character creator would be awesome. No idea why we can't have black haired Altmer od red haired Khajiit.

This so much. It's annoying have to guess how the purchased styles with match a face when making a new character.

It would be great if we could see our character moving around in a real in-game like room, woth in-game lightning. Just to have an idea of how it really will be. The same is true when you use tokens to change the appearance.

ZOS, you could even add the crown store to character creation!

Current Crown Store costumes, hair, tattoos etc. purchasable and preview-able from the window. Think of the money!

I would rather have this than the ability to move a character up & down the select screen. This seems way more beneficial.

Rejoice mortals for I have found a way to preview a new character with any outfit, costume or cosmetic change.

THE RACE/APPEARANCE CHANGE TOKEN!

No! You don't have to consume it.

All you need is to have one and use it on one of your existing characters. Before using it remember to put on any costume, outfit and/or cosmetic that you want to test. Then log out to the character seletion screen and use the token. Change sliders however you want, make screenshots and then just cancel any changes and go back to character selection screen.
Then just make new character using screenshots for reference.

You can even preview every vampirism stage!

Edit: But wait! There is more! You can even see how your character will look like in game, running, fighting etc. How? Just make a new character, start playing with it and if you don't like the look, then delete it. You can delete up to 3 characters untill you will have to wait to delete some more.

That is a great idea! What if you have a skin you love but it won't work at all because of for example your characters skin color. You won't know that until your ingame and it's to late. At that point you can only remake the character.

It's so frustrating to have to use trial and error (and limited character deletes!) to create a face that will work with a crown store hairstyle.

There's also a lot of room for improvement in the lighting used in character creation. I really can't tell how the skin tone and hair color will look together until I've left the tutorial dungeon and seen the character in natural light.

I know it doesn't help the console folks, but if you can and have the space, I'd highly recommend the PTS for creating your characters. You can buy a huge number of appearance tokens if you find you need to tweak things to get a new character "right" and can test them in anything in your collections. There are little issues with it, namely that the cycles aren't updated again for awhile after a release (I'm missing some skins and items on PTS that I've collected since the last update) but with Elsweyr coming to PTS soon, now would be a great time to test some new character designs!
