I was away from ESO for a couple of years, having played from early access until around September 2016, and came back just before the Witches Fest in 2018. Since then, it's been one event after the other, but in general I have enjoyed the activities and/or the rewards. Week 1 of the anniversary event was pretty good, considering I already do crafting writs on many of my characters even without the special rewards. However, the few days I've played of week 2 have annoyed the hell out of me.
Firstly, the system where you can only pick up one boss and/or one delve daily per zone might be interesting... if people were reliably sharing with others. While in many cases you can get quests shared, that is much more the case for world boss quests than delves, the latter only very rarely being shared. But in certain zones there are few or no people sharing quests at all, and even offering to share your own quests results in few to no replies. I don't know if this is because of low server population, low access to that particular DLC, or unwillingness of the players to share with others, but since the game doesn't exist in a vacuum my conclusion is that the system as a whole isn't working very well.
Secondly, I've experienced a number of antisocial behaviours from some players, such as large groups going at it with a highly-requested quest who then leave to turn it in and share with no one despite insistent requests by other players in zone or local chat, or solo players who ignore a group that is forming and waiting for other members and pull a boss, sometimes bringing it in the middle of said waiting group to force others to help. I realise these players are doing nothing illegal, but again, the game doesn't exist in a vacuum, so if some players cause grief and frustration, it should be on the developers' radar. Again, this tells me the quests aren't working well.
Finally, certain of these daily quests continue to have design flaws since they were introduced, especially those in Wrothgar, and specifically the quest Reeking of Foul Play (King Edu). Before I left the game in 2016 players already complained loudly about how few spawn points there were for the prisoners you need to release, as well as the excessive wait between respawns. If I understand correctly, this was addressed last year in a patch where the number of prisoners needed was reduced to 2 and the spawn timer decreased. Yet I've spent 5-10 minutes running between spawn points after killing the boss before I managed to rescue both prisoners. I don't think I'll ever do this quest again to be honest, the mind-numbing standing around or running between spawns waiting to get lucky was so frustrating.
If I may offer my opinion on this issue, I think ZOS should consider revising the daily quests so they are more widely shared (maybe adding some reward to sharing) and, where applicable, are less frustrating to complete. As it stands, once I get all my Lyris style pieces I don't think I'll bother with these dailies at all.
