Fighting dragons in ESO with very limited range bows/spells will be awful.

Anyone that played skyrim as a pure melee without bows or spells knows that dragons are annoying to fight(not my case, i play mostly as an sorcerer or archer) TBH any flying enemy is a pain in the **** if you can't hit then and then can hit you. But in ESO is different. Even Bows has very limited range(like most mmo's), while is possible for even in Morrowind(2002) to snipe mobs from very far away, the "snipe" skill is limited to 35m on ESO. TBH i think that projectiles are faster in morrowind than on skyrim. Historically, there are records of knights being "sniped" while in armor at 240 yards by an English longbow. Your arrow suddenly disappear in ESO instead of having an drop and maybe an wind(i searched an mod that adds wind for skyrim but never found) I have an 175 lbf crossbow an can easily hit an human sized target at 60m despite my lack of practice. Din't tested at 70m+ because i can't find anywhere to practice at this distance.

Here is interesting facts about longbowmans https://www.realmofhistory.com/2016/05/03/10-interesting-facts-english-longbowman/

If the dragons don't fly, will be probably just an "big lizard" like any other enemy.

I don't see them being different from any other enemy in the game. I doubt they would introduce a different mechanic (flying enemies )

    *Laughs with lightning spells.*

In Skyrim they usually stopped flying for most attacks, and even land at some (guaranteed land when run out of magicka, or used the Dragonrend shout)

It could be similar in ESO. They stop from time to time making them easy target. Also we could assume, that their magicka, and stamina is limited, and flying cost stamina, and shouting cost magicka. At some point they are bound to land. The exception is Alduin who has infinite stamina+magicka, but right now he is banished.

28 meters in this game is really far. Most overland mind will leash back to their spawning area in that distance. There will be no problem, this is a non-issue.

Come on, they are very big, lead shots and hit then with an bow isn't that hard. I can even hit then with shouts while they are flying. Not mentioning lightning spells.

This is not "advanced sniping" , on BF 1 with my Russian Winchester + Armor piercing bullets(k-bullet in game), i managed to hit the gunner in the airship at 341m, while the airship was moving and don't consider myself an good sniper. Maybe with an controller will be hard to aim on then but i never had any problem taking out dragons while they are flying.

The difference is that ranges are too limited in ESO. Even if they stop in the air to cast spells/breath/shouts, you can't hit then if they are "out of your range"

Imagine Cliff Racers on morrowind if you can't hit then unless they are really close(40m-).... Luckily i can hit then even with trowing weapons at very far away.

Are you honestly expecting anything any different than every other Ash Titan encounter with a reskinned model that looks like a dragon? In other words, a brown Ash Titan?

i do agree that bow should have Longer Range.
i think the 35 meter Max distance should be doubled to 70 meters.

    I know right?

Always nice to see a forum-goer proclaim the sky falling ... when no one has actually played a dragon encounter mechanic in-game.

we are basing this information on the last twitch stream, where the devs (who DID play the game) said several times that it will be almost imposible to hit dragons in the air even with bow, and that fighting wont happen untill the beast lands.

    So will never, ever happen.

As they refuse utterly to separate PvE and PvP abilities this is just impossible.

New Bosmer racial ability : Arrow of Stealthy Doom

Any nearby non-Bosmer, while in stealth, can activate Bosmer synergy, load Bosmer in bow and fire Bosmer at Dragon. Bosmer in arrow form will, of course, be fully stealthed (hey, get the stealth back!), and once impaled on Dragon, can engage in melee attacks until shaken off, in a manner reminiscent of hobbits on a cave troll.

or try new racial ability : chicken bone.

When swallowed whole by a dragon they will automatically get lodged in its throat and be able to deal damage ignoring the dragons armour while their health holds out....

The first mistake was trying to compare this game, and it's mechanics, to Skyrim. If we've learned anything so far, these two games are completely different.

Not true, you had Dragonrend which was forcing dragon to land and to fight on the ground. However I have slayed countless number of dragons in my favorite way - by sneaking to them when they were sleeping with my dagger ;D

It's very likely the dragons won't constantly be fighting during fights. Similar to Titans.

Don't the humans inside 60m get upset with being shot by your crossbow?

That sounds more like it's by design that nothing can hit them until they land, and once they do land, that is when actual combat is meant to happen. Or am I just missing something obvious?
