I just want a Gryphon mount and it doesn't need to fly. It could just have a description that its stil too young to fly with the weight or something. I just want one to match my pet and they look awesome.

Lore time! If this shuts up one flyboi it's worth it.

Flying in the TES universe is rare.

    Like, really rare.

So rare that mortal races only see one individual per era achieve it... And live to tell the tale.

That scene we all remember from Skyrim, which is the source of all this nonsense? Yeah, the Dovahkiin was a demigod. Actually, there is evidence he was a god. Note the absence of Shor in Sovngarde... Not confirmed of course, but the evidence for a theory is there.

DRAGONS ARE SENTIENT BEINGS. They are not common beasts. They are a full-blown race, with their own history, language, culture, etc.

Would you expect any Bosmer, Imperial or Khajiit to give you a piggyback ride when you whistle? No. The Dovah are the same. They'll probably bite your head off, actually.

So let us get these ideas of dragon mounts out of our heads. It is never going to happen. If it does, I'll eat my hat. And I paid a lot of money for my hat...

But in general... How many NPCs did you meet in any TES game who told you about their adventures in the sky?

    What's that? Oh, that's right.

    NONE.

The only mortal race who achieved stable flight were the Dwemer, with their airships. They're all gone now.

So no remaining race can fly, save perhaps the Werevultures of Valenwood if you count them. (And I'm not clear on their flight abilities.)

Flight is quite simply beyond the reach of the mortal races.

    It just. Does. Not. Happen.

    PERIOD.

Please, just give it a rest.

Let me be blunt here. If you're one of the people who keep harping on about flying mounts, you are not a fan of TES lore. You're a poser.

Actually their are the Welkynar that fly on Gryphons so yes I have meet NPC's that had adventures in the sky. Also I do agree that it is rare and does not make since for everyone to have a flying mount. Also their are not many creatures that you could fly on (also agree dragons would never be an option in TES lore).

But all I won't is a Gryphon mount. It does not need to fly they could add that the breed is too small to support the Weight. Although it would be cool if the jump animation allow it to glide a few feet.

Summerset? Okay I'll admit I haven't done anything there.

But in any case I have been everywhere else, and the fact there's no mention of flying in all those other places should be telling...

This game is past due to have flying mounts. I've been playing Tera for the past few months, and I have been enjoying that game because it has all kinds of flying mounts; from dragons to flying wolves and cycles. Oh, I'm not here to advertise or market for Tera; nor am I here to say which game is better. However, I have been enjoying the hell out of Tera because of the flying mounts, and being able to fly high above the landscapes and cities.

Zen, Bethesda, whoever the power that may be, go over to the Tera developers and make some friends. Get some flying mounts in ESO already, for goodness sake. I've not been able to return to play ESO. Get some good flying mounts in this game and bring back the champion points cap increase, and I'll come back to this game. It's another mistake to take away the CP cap increase; which is a major part of my enjoyment of this game. Bring the CP cap increase back, and I'll come back to this game. I want to see our toons (or characters to those that are jaded by the term toon) get past CP 1000. Tera's been getting a lot of my money where I should have been spending in ESO. Tis.. tis..

It would be cool to see many of the landscapes from the air. But as others have pointed out (and I think correctly) flying mounts trivialize journeys across the landscape. That's why games like WoW started requiring players to explore everything in a zone before they were given access to fly across it.
