It states pretty plainly that the First time you use the cake each day you get the tickets. I bet they even showed on the lower right of the screen.
So if you have 12 already you need to spend some and open some space Before using the cake for the First time that day.

This isn't a treasure chest you are opening, where the item has tangibility in the virtual world.
Its a one shot, like so many other currencies they have. If the container is full, it drops off and disappears.
Just like the transmutes. I keep telling myself I'm gonna figure out what they are good for because I got my 200 and all the ones that I "received" from boxes just disappear and are wasted.
But I know that is how it works, so I don't complain about it. I just join threads that ask Zos to take the cap off.

Juomuuri✭✭✭✭✭12/12 is the cap, so of course the tickets will disappear, just like the transmute gems (bye bye gems since I have 200/200 and have no use for the system since I don't do endgame).
It's just a bit annoying since this time around the event accumulates so many tickets that there might be "too many" before you can release some space with the next berry (I've got two of them, now collecting for the third, hoping I have room when it comes available). With the current rate, I would accumulate 14 tickets before the event's second week ends, so I will have to "waste" tickets for more feathers, to save up for the future Pokémon-- I mean Indriks (got one base Indrik ready for the yellow one).PC-EU (Steam) - CP 2300 - I was a tankblade main...0 -

Yes, but only once per day. You can gorge yourself on cake all you want - but you only get the 2 tix once for the day.0 -

You get two tickets once every day for eating cake. Up to the limit of 12. At the point you have 12 in your Currency pane, then you need to use some on something. If you want the luminous indrik (the icky yellow one that's current) you should buy berries as you have tickets to spend, because the feathers will be available all along through the events during the year. So you can get the berries you need, and get the feathers later.

The dude isn't wrong, when it comes to this the game doesn't care if you have no more inventory space for what it's trying to give to you. If you used it and it tried to give you tickets when already full on tickets it doesn't care, it's like chucking them at a brick wall between you and saying "Ok I gave em to you". It counted it even though you couldn't receive them, that's just how it works. Yes, it says you get tickets the first time you eat cake. But not everyone understood how that relates to this event, until they lost out. I did it once, and I'll probably screw up and do it again since I play both servers.
I can understand first hand the frustration of doing this- but most of these posts are born out of frustration & a little bit of anger at themselves that they've screwed up.
Perhaps the plethora of perturbed posts will push ZOS to be perfectly plain in their postings pertaining to possible future parties (events).Xbox NA/EU

You only need 10 to buy the feathers/berries. If you're at 11, you should buy something if you don't want to run over.
Also, if you're at 11, and you can't go to the vendor right now, you can refresh your cake buff with the previous Jubilee Cakes. (They work during this event, but do not award tickets.)3 -

Just like I don't know why you can only have one boss quest at a time.
...and like I don't know why you can only have 25 quests, in your quest log, despite there being multiple crafting dailies, writs and so on.
...and like I don't know why they designed this event to be broken up into separate weeks of doing one thing, obsessively, all the time.
