Upcoming Alliance Lock - can I choose my Alliance?

meaning for 30 days on vivec I use my AD characters, the next month I use EP, the month after that I go with my DC characters...
at the end of each campaign hopefully I can "move" the characters out of vivec, put them in another map, and, free up my alliance choice for the new campaign...

What if i don't want to be an AD but i like my bosmer? I am EP in heart and would like to be loyal to that alliance but sometimes i get born on the wrong side of the conflict ^^.

You'll be able to change your "active" aliance when a campaign is finished. So, you can choose another alliance for new campaign.One of the two of us definitely has gone mad. It only remains to define whether this one is the whole world or just me.

Nope, many many people actually have loyalty to a faction. For example I have a toon from each class and PvP on all of them, and they are all EP. Making an absolute statement like that is a bad way to argue, all anyone has to do is provide ONE example of you being wrong and you look foolish.

And let’s say you are on a DC character when you choose vivec as your home campaign.
Then, your DC characters can join any campaign. Your AD and EP characters can join the other campaigns but can NOT enter vivec. You won’t get campaign rewards for your AD or EP characters.

It’s simple. As I understand it, only your home campaign is alliance locked.

and from what i just watched them say, thats exactly how it will be in the next patch, and that is perfect!

✭✭My understanding is the following will apply to all campaigns except Shor:
If you take an AD character into (say) Vivec, then you can play Vivec on that and any other AD character/s you have for the duration of that campaign. Once it ends you are free to lock yourself into a different alliance for the next campaign as long as you have a character in that alliance.
In the meantime, if you have an EP character, you can enter any other campaign you like except Vivec. Once you enter this campaign, you can only use EP characters in this campaign. And so on.
If you are so desperate to switch alliances (by jumping on another alliances character) mid campaign, I believe you can do so but you will forfeit any AP gained on the original character and be excluded from end of campaign rewards.
My main account has multiple characters in each alliance. If I am unhappy with how the fight is going once a campaign starts, I'll do exactly what I do now, either:
take another character into a different campaign,
take a lesser character (of the same alliance) into the same campaign (just for fun/leveling, etc.),
or go and find something to do in PVE.Australian on PS4 NA server.

I understand the desire for players gravitating to always being on the winning side, who wouldn't - but I''ll be keen to see how player distribution occurs when people need to commit to a faction per different campaign.

There is non-locked 7day map. Everyone can hop in to other factions and play with friends. If you play pvp for friends and combat, there is a place for that. And if "a lot of" people think like you, you gonna populate 7day map.1 -

✭✭✭Thank Stendarr that this terrible experiment of unlocked factions is coming to and end with at least two campaigns, and that we are reverting back to faction locks.
The 'play any alliance with your friends' idea has been a noble but misguided experiment. Not more than 1 in 3 faction-hoppers switch alliances to 'play with friends'. The majority of faction-hoppers switch alliances for easier AP, to boost AP, to swipe scrolls, sell Emp, block Emp, grief, and otherwise disrupt 3v3 largescale team competition.
It's been a long time coming. We had hope last year when ZoS said they were looking into bringing back faction-locks due to the problems of unlocked campaigns.
Providing locked and unlocked campaign choices settles the problems and serves everyone. Period, end of story.

You're very self-centered, aren't you? They did this change BECAUSE many pvp-ers asked for it. Not you personally, of course, but people who actually have alliance pride and work for their alliance gain, which is the main point in a three alliance war.0
