Judging from the current state of performance, I highly doubt it would aviation as you imagine it. Some sort of jerky, wing-clipping, laggy mess, rubber banding from tree to tree and getting stuck on Enchanting Nodes some 15m below you... with your characters legs and feet sticking out of the dragon's belly, running as if you were on the ground... Yay.

    Lmao.

No, because the engine would struggle, they’d have to be disabled in Cyro (and many other areas) and just generally are not worth the pain they cause.

I realize not everyone pays a lot of attention to the matter but if OP did they would know Zos has said no to this more in the manner of never.

Tera is rather irrelevant. If flying mounts are that important to OP then they should stick with Tera, that they seem to he playing already. It would be stupid for developers to try to be like every single game and forget it's own identity so these comparisons to other games as OP has done is just nonsense.

I do think it is funny that OP uses Tera as an example as they do have flying mounts but one cannot fly across the open world zone due to poor design. So yea, citing a game that did it poorly is really showing a good reason Zos should avoid flying mounts.

I am.. thank you very much. I would like to enjoy ESO again, though :(

This seems to demonstrate that the flying mounts are that important to OP. Very shallow reason to favor one game over another. Especially to favor a game that did it so wrong.

ESO is not a game made for flying mounts.

If flying mounts will make it enjoyable again, then you obviously don't realize that there are no areas that are extra to explore with a flying mount, there will be no combat or quests either. There is literally nothing to benefit from a flying mount that would make ESO more enjoyable. And if you only want a game where you can just fly around aimlessly, then you have that game, just not ESO.

It is so freaking enjoyable getting a loading screen every minute, losing detail in the terrain, skipping over quest triggers, quest givers, and generally screwing up the game?

You have a game that lets you fly. ESO does not. Perhaps accept the fact that ESO isn't the game for you and let the idea of ruining the game because it would make you happy go. After all, apparently you can have a flying pig to love in that other game.... And even some of the people involved with WoW have mentioned flying mounts wasn't the greatest idea....
"Having looked at how flying has played out in the old world in the last couple of expansions, we realized that while we were doing it out of this ingrained habit after we introduced flying in The Burning Crusade, it actually detracted from gameplay in a whole lot of ways," Hazzikostas explains. "While there was certainly convenience in being able to completely explore the world in three dimensions, that also came at the expense of gameplay like targeted exploration, like trying to figure out what's in that cave on top of a hill and how do I get up there."

Hazzikostas gives an example: Before flying was introduced to World of Warcraft, if you got a quest to rescue a prisoner from an enemy encampment, it would play out a certain way. Players would need to fight their way through the camp. After flying, players could just fly into the center of camp, land on top of the hut where the prisoner is, free him and fly out.

"It made the world feel in many ways much smaller," he says.

Originally, Blizzard took out flying in Warlords of Draenor as an experiment, and Hazzikostas says he would have bet "slightly better than even money at the time" that they were going to bring it back eventually. But as they played the expansion and watched others play it, they discovered that they liked the game better without flying.

"The world feels larger, feels more dangerous," he says. "There's more room for exploration, for secrets, for discovery and overall immersion in the world. At this point, we feel that outdoor gameplay in World of Warcraft is ultimately better without flying. We're not going to be reintroducing the ability to fly in Draenor, and that's kind of where we're at going forward."

As for you "coming back", from your posts in the past, flying mounts was not the only aspect of the game you had issues with. You would probably be happier sticking with games that aren't ESO.

This game is past due to have flying mounts. I've been playing Tera for the past few months, and I have been enjoying that game because it has all kinds of flying mounts; from dragons to flying wolves and cycles. Oh, I'm not here to advertise or market for Tera; nor am I here to say which game is better. However, I have been enjoying the hell out of Tera because of the flying mounts, and being able to fly high above the landscapes and cities.

Zen, Bethesda, whoever the power that may be, go over to the Tera developers and make some friends. Get some flying mounts in ESO already, for goodness sake. I've not been able to return to play ESO. Get some good flying mounts in this game and bring back the champion points cap increase, and I'll come back to this game. It's another mistake to take away the CP cap increase; which is a major part of my enjoyment of this game. Bring the CP cap increase back, and I'll come back to this game. I want to see our toons (or characters to those that are jaded by the term toon) get past CP 1000. Tera's been getting a lot of my money where I should have been spending in ESO. Tis.. tis..

Umm i think they should Probably fix their engine so water and swimming are not an imaginary wall. If eso implemented flying mounts they would be hover mounts. ESO's engine wont support upward movement.

Would love it, if for no other reason than to see all the salt from players who hate flying mounts and selfishly don't want anyone to have them because they don't like them.

Yes I'm aware the engine doesn't allow flying mounts. Silly to think for a single second that Zos wouldn't sell flying mounts if they could though, despite this board salt they are huge money makers.

      No.

This has already been mentioned before.
As for why not. Well the simplest reason is how ESO was made. ESO was made to be experienced from the ground. Imagine flying in Coldharbour...nope would not work.

As for Wayshrines, they are really good. Nearly instant and free transport all over Tamriel. In other games you gotta sit and wait until some transport vehicle has taken you there.
