Upcoming Alliance Lock - can I choose my Alliance?

Hey,
my main IS a dc character, with the upcoming Update there will be faction Lock, so U can only play characters in the same alliance in vivec+sotha sil.
Some people told me that U can choose the alliance U wish to Fight for, e.g. my DC Main could Fight for EP, but now only EP Side IS allowed until the end of the campaign.
Is that true? Would actually be very cool, so all Friends etc could Just choose same alliance.

Depends. I definitely wont do it often anymore. Because I wont be able to do it on the characters I need it done on when I actually want to. it's a really stupid change they didnt think through at all.Playing your character the way your character should play is all that matters. Think of it as an opportunity to try different campaigns as well. Hopefully spreading the pop out a bit will help cyro performance. From what I understood, you can switch to a character of a different Alliance during the same campaign, but forfeit end of campaign rewards for the first character by doing so. So in theory, you can play as many alliances as you want in the same campaign if you don't care about the rewards.

Nope. As they said here - (start watching from 00:36:49) you can't play with other characters in another alliance during a campaign. You'd better join 7 days campaign if want to play different characters in different alliances.One of the two of us definitely has gone mad. It only remains to define whether this one is the whole world or just me.

Pretty much this. As soon as I enter Cyrodil on one character I pretty much lock myself out of my preferred Cyrodil on all my characters that do not share an alliance. Letting us pick which faction we are fighting for across all characters for the duration of the campaign would have been much better.3 -

And let’s say you are on a DC character when you choose vivec as your home campaign.
Then, your DC characters can join any campaign. Your AD and EP characters can join the other campaigns but can NOT enter vivec. You won’t get campaign rewards for your AD or EP characters.

Why not have an one day or 20 hour cooldown.
This would disable tactical faction jumping but let people do pvp on alts.
All my caracters is AD so it don't matter for me and mostly pve anyway, but feels like an typical ZoS nerf.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.1 -

It’s not a stupid change at all if you have any understanding of the underlying cause for the huge Alliance imbalances that happened ever since they removed the old limit and allowed everyone to just swap between all three Alliances in the Campaign at any time.
A large percentage of the player base doesn’t want to play on the Allianance that starts getting creamed and pushed to their gates when given the choice to have things easy and win. They then just go hop on another character and join in on the lopsided bummeling causing huge score imbalances through the Campaign.
You have little reason to need to be able to play different sides during the course of a single Campaign. Most clans play primarily on a single Alliance. And you’re not limited to just PvP’ing on one character. You’re only limited to playing for one side until that campaign ends. You can have 10 characters on DC to swap between. You just can’t go hop on AD or EP if DC is sucking.

You’ll get rewards for your home campaign.
That’s it.
Think it through. If you enlist in vivec as your home with DC, then you can’t go into vivec with your AD or EP characters, and so obviously you won’t be earning campaign rewards with those.
It’s not complicated.
You enlist in a campaign to be your home with a chosen army, and so that’s the army you’ll be serving with for the campaign. No switching sides and fighting under an enemy flag.Xbox NA1 -
