Quickest way to get caltrops?

If they sold Caltrops in the crownstore.

Bg's are a decent option. I prefer the 7 day campaign for leveling up PVP skills. Usually a couple dedicated days can get you there. I also make sure and take the AP from login rewards on the toon I'm leveling because that'll count toward alliance rank.

Since the PvP week is coming up after this one, that seems like the best time to get it on multiple characters hunting down those at daily areas.

Do Bg randoms while you level. BG random and dungeon random daily will get you to 50, unlock caltrops, and get you to minimum undaunted 3 usually. Plus, extra AP to go to vendor with and buy overland gear to get the character up to snuff quickly with self sufficiency

I just did this for a new pvp toon. I think I did between 6 and 10 bgs to get it, which was absolutely painless. Previously I had gone to cyro and taken my chances - there you can repair walls and doors when it's needed or join a zerg if one is zerging. But while the overall time taken to get the skills probably are about the same, I've found that there isn't always a zerg to hop on and sometimes the keeps needing repairs are a long, dangerous ride from home base. Sometimes there IS a zerg, but it's run by your own guild and you don't want to take up a group slot while not being geared for the occasion because somebody else would serve the group better. Bottom line is that it takes longer in Cyro because the conditions have to be in your favor to rack up the AP without being good at (or geared for) racking up AP.

So BGs definitely win out - you can get your skills earned in a single evening regardless of your skill level (but winning a match here and there doesn't hurt). Also, that was the first time I tried BGs and I loved it - will definitely being doing quite a lot more of it.

Yeah I agree with Sheezabeast, the option to buy abilities would be awful....

Caltrops takes a day max to level.... good luck!

I would stay far away from this Imperial will become an event Zerg sadly the only time it’s used. Towns will be a gankers dream land for a week. If you want Caltrops and you’re not a PvPer do BGs or jump on a Zerg they will be pretty non stop during the event week and the last week.

random daily battleground. if you can grab the quest for 1k medals - even better. in my experience, its the absolute fastest way to unlock caltrops. during decent time of the dy, battlegrounds pop quickly and you literally get it unlocked under an hour. and you don't even have to win a battleground to do it, just participate. ideally you would try to win anyways (and its faster if you do, as wins give more AP), but its not contingent on it.

now... it may have possibly been with double xp, I cannot verify for sure, but I literally got enough ap in something like 40 minutes. my pops only took a few minutes and each battleground was about 10ish minutes. I only won one of them and at least one of them, I was on a team that came in third.

although... that DID include AP from doing Cyrodil intro quest. which I skipped all the actual training and just chose the "yeah yeah, i know what to do" option which made it pretty fast.

honestly, from personal experience at least of getting pvp skill lines via Cyrodill vs battlegrounds? battlegrounds are faster AND easier.

XP means nothing to AP. If you were fortunate maybe you did the Cyro quest when your faction had the pop bonus. That has helped me a few times. If it was during Midyear then maybe 5 matches could do it because that equals 10.

Not trying to doubt you, but i literally have rolled 9 alts in two months so ive gotten real familiar with the way it happens.

With that being said, i could still be completely wrong lol.

some dude said you need about 24 runs in BG to get caltrops even if you lose all of them. Don't know is it true or not...
1 bg is 10 minutes, 4 hours total.

Just enter Cyrodiil. Ask the zone for group. Zerg surf for awhile. You'll get Caltrops after capturing few keeps. Buy siege so you won't be totally useless for the zerg. If you die, just respawn and do it again.

xp as in scroll of pelinal. I should have been more clear - my bad, i blame typing while late and trying to get through last round of crafting dailies, before it flips over to a delve daily week :P. I did the whole "get calltrops/vigor/horn/cleanse" grind on a few alts as well. that's why I highly HIGHLY recommend doing battlegrounds WITH dailies picked up vs Cyrodil. unless you have a set group that will roll over a bunch of castles in rapid succession - battlegrounds are far FAR faster.
