The Only Thing That Will Make me Quit ESO

I hope the developers read this as I am positive thousands of other players feel the exact same way I do about this issue.

I can deal with class imbalance. It happens in every game. You can approach balance but you will never achieve it. I get that. It’s frustrating. It can make you log out. It can make you take a break. It won’t make you quit. *** happens.

I can deal with population imbalance in pvp. This too is frustrating. You get served down by players not as good as you. You get zerged down by players better than you. You are fighting a 1v 1 and a bow ganker shows up and snipes you and ruins it. Perhaps an *** player makes it his mission to try and ruin your gaming experience (and others) by doing 3 am raids for emperor. That’s the nature of a pvp game. *** happens.

I can deal with toxic pvp players. They accuse you of cheating. They log on to their characters in another faction to Target you specifically. Log out and come back to play. *** happens.

I can deal with a lot of things. Fortunately I am decently well to do in rl and I can purchase the things/items I want in game and I have done so with my houses and outfits etc. i am happy to do so as I enjoy eso enough to warrant the spend and I want to contribute what I can so it lasts as long as possible. I am sure other 30+ gamers are in the same situation.

What I cannot deal with is *** performance issues. Today on two occasions I came across two seperate nightblade players and mid fight my shields would not work. My heavy overload is bugged so I couldn’t heavy attack. Frags hard casts when you have the instant proc ready. Daedric Tomb is bugged and the ability won’t work some times. I was lagged out on a fairly nice gaming computer due to server side issues and not my own. My abilities would not fire off as quickly as I was depressing the skill and fights I could have won I lost. The most egregious example was a fight where I attempted to activate hardened ward six times and it simply would not cast.

The performance issues are getting old and I am not the only player/customer who feels this way. The game needs to work. It’s been five years since launch.

That’s a fair comment but never to this level. It’s fairly crazy just how many abilities are broken and how badly performance gets when the game is being played like it is supposed to be played.

This wasn’t even in prime time and it was on Sotha Sil, not Vivek.

Not the point is it? Just because other games do it, doesn't make it right. So it's OK if people bully because they do it in other games?

Let's see, Star Trek Online. Path of Exile. Riders of Icarus. All free games to boot as well.

For me, I was about to resub ESO+ but with my heavy attacks not working all the time in PvE, maybe it's time to go without it for now. After all, if not having fun in combat because I can't use an ability because it's bugged no use trying then.

the only thing that makes me quit ESO for a few hundred hours is the release of Elder Scrolls 6 ^^

Three things come to mind right away, in no particular order, probably several more in 5 minutes:
    1. The game jumping the shark with lame/inane story lines or newly twisted lore.
    2. Zos continuing to let the game engine fall behind on stats for lag, loading screens, poor performance, keeping the game performance tied to minimum specs akin to DOS machine standards as 'acceptable', and stuff like that. (yeah, I know DOS machine is a reach, but hey, the minimums aren't set that much above DOS as it is.)
    3. Boredom with the genre as time wears it thin.
The problem with society these days is that no one drinks from the skulls of their enemies anymore.

    To op,
Soon the decision will be made for you, look at eu server status, and elsweyr is inbound, meaning more players for eso, add the refugee from other mmo, and we have ourselves a situation.
Read the eu server complains, at least youll know what to expect.

Yea the performance issues suck but when I take my rose tinted glasses off, we used to lag like hell in Daoc too during big battles/sieges years ago. I honestly don't think this issue will ever be completely fixed when so many players, abilities, and explosions are taking place in one zone. I'll be hitting harness magica repeatedly and it wont fire off and I'll initially get ticked off but then I realize most everyone else is hammering their abilities without luck too. Makes me feel a little better at least and just go it is what it is..

I'm amazed anyone attempts PVP, in this game.

PVE is more than laggy and buggy enough for me, a lot of the time.

Then I also have my own occasional internet issues, on top of that, which always seem to come at the wrong time.

No way would I venture into PVP, here.

I value what's left of my sanity too much.

I hear ya on the sanity part but it's the only RVR MMO currently running with this many active players. Got to get in some siege warfare somewhere lol.

I know it's not fair, but when someone write post like "unsub, will not play again" I silencly chuckle and talk to myself "goooood, there is more room in que for meeeeee" xD <--- best with Gollum voice

Back to topic. If time of my loading screen will be higher than my playtime I consider quiting. Otherwise I will be in that que! Brace yourselfs, weekend is coming!

I'm having the same issues in PVE land. I'm trying to steam roll through VMA for equipment and my bars won't swap or my heals from swallow soul, jabs, power surge are extremely delayed. I'm getting so much delay that I'm actually dead when all the adds are dead. I keep seeing " You cannot complete that action while dead" while I'm clearly alive.... It's infuriating to say the least.

You say that you have problem with players that play not as good as you. I have no problems, only hard lugs in pvp now. Can not use skills and etc.

May be you are not as good as you think?

Yes it is problem, 2 good player always kill 1 good player of the same exp level, but is it wrong.

Why do you think you have to kill raid by you own?

By the way you can if it is weak - nana bomb and etc.

But why do you think you have to kill 12 people that each play better than you alone?

Yes invisiability is some thing i hate too. Rat play and etc. When target become invissible under attack with dots on it is really strange for me. But do not see problem in pvp now. Only in hard lugs, and that skills do not work some times for 1-20 seconds in prime time.

Performance issues are definitely my only true gripe with this game. It sucks that I can't play after 7pm because Cyrodiil is so laggy that you have to mash buttons, and it takes 2 seconds to successfully bar swap.
I was embarrassed to recommend ESO to a friend and he stopped playing a couple of weeks after he hit 160cp because the lag was so terrible in PvP. I'll never do it again until performance is stable.
I complain about it a lot because I do enjoy this game, when it works. I just want it to work more often than not.
