I'm sorry but I don't think there's any shortcuts here. Practice on the dummy until you get the hang of it. Just use the skill and light attack, nothing else, until you get a good feeling of when to do you light attacks. Start slow and then speed up. You'll be there in no time

that might well be the case, im told its all about timing, i just cant seem to get it right - it just feels "clunky" - is that normal?

Yes it is. Even if it's one of the best DPS spammable skills a lot of people dislike it just because of its clunkiness, me included. Takes a little bit practice to get used to it, but don't expect to like it

thanks - guess ill persevere... you reacon the best way is literally do nothing else but LA > ELE first? might be worth just doing that on a 3m dummy with nothing else and compare (slow) times
Start with light attack, then ele weapon, just like any other weaving. Seems a little counter intuitive, but thats how it works best. Do it the same as if you were using force pulse. It does seem to hit harder, and more importantly, costs less magicka.
im told by friends that ele weapon + LA puts out much more damage than force pulse spamming.
the problem i have is that whenever i try it, it seems to be such a clunky animation it only kicks in on the LA about 1/3 of the time. so the net dps is less (in fact on a 3 m dummy about 10k less)
does anyone have any tips - i keep getting told to "slow down" - but if i slow down, the 2 second cooldown expires because of the clunkyness! by the time the ele weapon has engaged, about 1 second of it has expired before you can get off the LA anyway - and you cant do anything with that 1 second.
any help / insights appreciated!

that cant be right can it?
LA 1 > EW > LA2 and your saying it applies to both 1 and 2?
the tooltip states "...causing your next Light Attack used within 2 seconds to deal an additional ..."
since LA1 has already been cast, it isnt the next LA..... and it only applies to 1 anyway?
