I was on semi-hiatus for a few months and now coming back it seems the animations for the mounts - at least the horse ones - look a lot better to me.

Thanks!
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.

Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

They might be, but you still have your mount randomly slow down or stop on flat ground.

Yes, the legs move in a more random patern now, instead of a lockstep same leg rotation.

I think it looks better then before

    Cheers!

A few patches ago, sometime last year, they added new mount animations and smoothed things out. To make the horses for example behave more natural and realistic.

Speaking of mounts, I saw in the new patch notes that mounts will have improved animations when they're placed on house lots. I hope that means the horses will do that wonderful, natural head-tossing animation they do when you're sitting on them, but standing still, and the foot stomp.

Quote: "Mounts placed inside your home will now fidget periodically."

I also hope they randomize the timing. When I'm sitting on a mount near a friend who is also mounted; the two horses get "in synch" way too fast.

Yet for some reason, they still have you mounting your horse from its right side when it's typically done from its left side. :o

I seem to recall someone mentioning that earlier.

I have no knowledge of that. Rode a horse once, as kid and was too busy being terrified to be really observant.

I wish the bear mount animations could be made less terrible, but as I've never ridden nor owned a bear I couldn't begin to suggest how to go about that.

From what I remember, it had something to do with because most people were (and still are) right-handed, they wore their sword (if they only had one) on their left hip. Therefore, they mounted the horse from its left side so as not to injure the horse with the sword.

    Or something like that. :)

That makes a lot of sense.

Sooo......is ESO full of people who trained to use their weapons left handed?

Makes sense to me, because otherwise the horse wouldn't care what side you mounted on. B)

Mount animations still look weird, while sprinting + speed buff. Would like to see.. slower animation while running.

Not sure if anyone noticed, but as tank Npcs seem to use smarter tactics now too. Like pushing me back, walking around me and atting my flank, repositioning themselfs out of aoe etc. Kinda annoying but realistic. Not that it saves them tho.
