Sorry that we got something in pvp that is halfway exclusive. We forgot that for every one thing we get you guys should be getting 10 things. Oh wait, new dungeons, new arena, new trials, new zone, new story quest line, new pve gear, new event rewards, more motifs that only drop from trials/dungeons, more momentos only obtainable in pve. Just missing one, we apologize. You want the weapons back, and maybe ZOS will find something else we can has?

I'm complaining that these aren't part of PvP? And are insetad just bought skins on the Crown Store. You might wanna try reading the OP before commenting next time

Nobody said Spellbreaker is confined to a Crown Store skin. You are over-reacting to your baseless speculation. Calm down and carry on.

It really bugs me and I've had a whine on Twitter about it a couple of times.

Personally I think unique artefact items should remain as that and be used in interesting ways as items in Cyrodiil (as the new one being added) or parts of boss/quests mechanics (Shieldbreaker).
Selling them as skins cheapens them somewhat in my eyes. I have just accepted that it's happening though and head cannon it as merchants selling knock-off items which are not the real thing.

That's basically how I feel about it as well. I remember the very first time getting to the final boss in vSCP and thinking, "Oh wow! It's Spellbreaker! That's so cool!" and now that players will be running around with it outside of that dungeon takes away the uniqueness of the artifact.

It would have bothered me less if:
1) They were unlocked via achievements rather than bought in the Crown Store, and
2) Their descriptions specifically mentioned that they are "replicas"

Heck, I would have even been content if they were simply unique furnishing items you could place in your home. Let's say you unlocked the Spellbreaker furnishing after unlocking a specific achievement in vSCP and could then hang Spellbreaker on the wall of your home. That would be much more lore friendly since you would only be able to see one Spellbreaker (the one on your wall) rather than 10 on different players running around in Wayrest.

Always nice to read a response from someone who actually read the OP. I just think it's a Shame, as I would've loved to Spellbreaker as one of the PvP Artifacts, reflecting 100% of spells or something idk, would've been really cool.

Just because it's a crown store skin does not mean it will not appear in Cyrodiil though. Volendrung is only the first of the Cyrodiil artifacts to be released.

I agree with you, comrade. Daedric artifacts must be a part of the gameplay, not just a skin. Want a copy of it? Sure, have a poorly forged one. It seems, that devs sell every piece of art they produce, which is so lame. Don't you guys have anything holy?

imho, the Artifact skins should have been unlocks for the people who got their hands on the artifacts while they are active in Cyro.

Means I would never get any of them, but would still have been a cooler way to put these skins into the game.

Volendruung is just the first Daedric Artifact to appear in Cyrodiil, it's been said that, depending on how it's received, future artifacts could appear in Cyrodiil as well, including even ones that show up as Crown Store skins. So there's still chances to see the artifacts in-game as useable weapons. Others could still appear as temporary items used in quests like Dawnbreaker, or show up in abilities like Dawnbreaker.

I personally quite like the route their taking in regards to this, I love the artifacts in the games but they tend to lose power each iteration of game they show up in, so to see these artifacts being shown as extremely powerful in quests and dungeons and now Cyrodiil, it feels like they're being given a respectful representation of their ability. Having them as items that we could use at all times would deeply hinder what capabilities they would have, because it would be outright OP in terms of balance to have them near any semblance of power that they've been heralded to have, if we had them as constant items.

But at the same time, still letting them show up as replicas is a nice feature, and lets us RP whether or not we have them.


Though, I do miss going around finding shrines and doing quests for Daedric Princes for neat artifacts, but it is what it is.

Well, being an Elder Scrolls fan rather than a flashy MMO fluff fan, I think they're the best things ever to come into the CS. They can have my free Crowns from subbing again.

Agreed, artifacts as weapon / shields skin is dumbest idea!
