LOL, If everything was only this simple. Clearly you have no idea what would be required behind the scene to make the change happen. The person you quoted is more likely to be correct.

Level another character if you want to experience another class. All I have to say about it. Only valid point might be 5. but this is basically the same in every MMORPG so...

(btw make achievements etc. account bound)

Well in FFXIV you could change your class ANY time for FREE.

and in ff14 you are stuck on your race, right?

but its not a valid Argument anyway. if you want ff14 play ff14

A single valid reason is all that is required for change. 1 good reason trumps 100s of inconsequential ones.

Provide that one reason and you'll get your class change token.

None of the 12 listed have any impact or incentive to implement change.

You always can delete a char, create new, and then make i ticket for char restore. One guy have a 19 chars at account this way

Or, just make all achievements account-wide?

    Class Change:
For me, it’s all about achievements. I have a main character for a reason. Seems logical that my Sorcerer may decide, after years of play, to pursue another Class of skills such as Necromancy, Thieving/Stealth, or what have you. Changing classes is akin to returning to college or trade school. There could even be short quest lines added to facilitate this change similar to Vampires and Werewolves.

That's because it's designed from the ground up as a multi-class game, unlike most MMORPGs which are designed as single class games - including ESO.

As those demanding account-wide skyshards have learnt to their cost - literally - you should be careful what you wish for. Any changes along these lines will always be tied to the Crown Store, and if people could buy class change tokens then you can pretty much guarantee that every Update would include major balancing changes just so that more class change tokens would be sold.

I don't care about having to level another character, it isn't a big deal. Necromancer will be my new main most likely but I'll feel I "need" to do everything also on my current main because he has all of the achievements and the progress toward so many others. In that regard no I don't want to have to "start over", it's too much. I'd rather just class change my main if I like Necromancer.

Being able to class change without losing progression could help some keep playing also. If they're bored with their mains current class but do not want to start over basically from scratch then they may just walk away. If they could class change they'd likely do so and keep playing. It's a win-win for ZOS.

Is it really though? What's that say about the quality of their coders? But if they REALLY CAN'T DO IT.... then it's time they started making some things account-wide. Like MOUNT TRAINING. Or, at the very least, letting you buy it up to max with in game gold all at once rather than doing the ridiculous and maddening grind of MONTHS to get it all maxxed. There's so much content to do in the game to level, do you REALLY need to run around on every single character gathering up sky shards? Make them account-wide as well.

Skill lines happen via questing so I see no real reason to just hand those out, they are part of progression and are actually part of playing the game.

What is your experience with complex databases that are the foundation for large MMORPGs? My guess is none so your comment does not seem very qualified.

Can they do it, Of course, but that is rather irrelevant to what you quoted.

None of those sound like compelling reasons. Sorry. I might as well claim most of us wanted our sorcerers to be aritifcers therefore class change tokens. Nonsensical.

    Nah, he's actually correct.

That is literally all it would take to change classes. The hard part - which is the design of the class itself - has already been done.

It doesn't really matter how complex a data base is - that would not have any bearing on a code to change classes. The whole point of having a database in the first place is so you can easily draw from it while coding. The construction of the database itself is what would require the effort, not a code that simply selects an item or class from the database. That is simple to do.

The thing is I already have 13 Champion characters spent at least 100 hours each and 2 other slots is simply not enough.

    Make it 4
    Character 14-15
Theone they will be giving freely
And the #17 you will be able to buy

The person I quoted said it was too hard for them. And yes, I actually do have some knowledge of the issue. Do I know the exact specifics at ZOS? No. But I know enough to know ill-thought out workmanship when I see it.

Yeah, that is "literally" all that it would take to change classes. It's like flying.. All you have to do is throw yourself at the ground, and miss. The devil is in the details.
