I don't understand...

Hail and well met, all.

So, one of my characters is my Thief/Assassin and I took advantage of the free race swap to change him from Redguard to Khajiit for the 3m stealth radius decrease. I figured the 10% to crit was just some icing on the cake.

However, his crit prior to change was 60.8%, so I thought I'd see SOME increase, but no, nada, nuttin'... after the change he's still at 60.8%... so what am I not understanding?

Oh, and I'm most DEFINITELY feeling the lesser amount of stamina and stamina regen from the lack of Redguard passives. I don't care though because this guy primarily runs heists and assassinations, and I am noticing the benefits of the detection radius decrease... I have other, less focused, PVE characters.

So... where be mah extra crit?

Thanks.
Thank you.

Take care,

Silly question, but it has to be asked. Did you put your points back into your racial passives after the switch?

Khajiit get crit severity, not crit chance. That means your crits hit harder, not more frequently.

Of the two options, severity is much harder to get, and as a result, far more valuable. EDIT: At least, as a racial passive.

Which means you want to build more crit into your build to take advantage of this.

    Thank you all.

Yes, I did allocate those points.

    Now I understand the difference.

As a NB with my buff it goes to 66.8%, and since I honestly try to avoid fighting as a Thief/Assassin, I think I'm ok with this.

He's running daggers with Precise, has the DW passive to give daggers crit chance... I'm running Warrior Boon vs the crit chance one from reading that Warrior gives better overall DPS.

As mentioned, I didn't really care about the crit, it was just icing, lol.

Prolonged, 2 to 4 mob battles is where the racial change comes home to roost. The Khajiit passives can't compare to the Redguard ones for sustainability... but that rarely happens for this guy... sneak in, get the item/kill UnAss the AO, lol.

    Thanks again for the help.
    Thank you.

Majority of people will disagree. First of all 10% crit ended in same dps as 8% crit chance so obviously crit chance per % was more powerful. Second thing is that you got ton of crit power from horns and mundus, while crit chance is limited to your gear, i.e. mother sorrow or advancing yokeda plus nightblade passives and that's all. More valuable is that crit chance is way more reliable, i.e. with 80% crit chance you may be pretty sure that majority of your hits will end up in double damage. If crit chance is 50% it's far from that. It's not important on boss burn since in long road dps will be the same, but in adds focus this may lead to longer mob kill time or overkill and wasted dps.
So only place where khajiit won from this passive is PVP, but given that they lost health recovery % and damage from stealth it's overall questionable improvement.
With all the excitement about khajiit being new BiS race at initial racial passives release, after this change (and orc buff) they landed as 2nd tier RP race as before.

Good thing I really only wanted the detection radius decrease for PvE heists and assassinations, lol.

Good, bad, or indifferent in PvP is totally irrelevant to me since I detest PvP and have never set foot in Cyrodil since playing this game since early access of PC launch

Glad those who enjoy it have it, but it certainly makes building my characters easier not having to deal with it, lol.
    Thank you.
