Long Download time

Hey, I started downloading like 3 hours ago and im only 9% done, its moving extremely slow at 183 kb/s with 21335.59 mbs left....I'm running it in administrator, could there be something else that's going on?

My guess is they didn't implement enough hardware, just like every other MMO launch in history. Nothing like having 100mb/s download speeds, spending money on a game that then downloads at below dial-up speeds. Been downloading for 4 hours now, 9% done. If this is the experience i get in game i'm immediately cancelling my subscription.

I figured id give it a chance, and I knew that it would be a ridiculous download time.....but not this bad.....im at 10%, been downloading for 6 hours.

Hi @nurps‌

For slow download speeds, you first want to confirm your overall connection speed is not having any issues. You can verify your connection speed at a third party site like http://www.speedtest.net.

If your overall speed is fine, you then want to disable any firewalls or anti-virus running on the machine. Default Windows firewalls will come on automatically after others are disabled, so keep in mind that the Windows firewall may need to be disabled, too. Always remember to turn them on again after the download completes.

You will also want to make sure the following ports are open in your router:

24100 through 24131
24500 through 24507

If any of these ports are blocked, it can degrade the download speed you are getting.

@ZOS_BILLE Okay, I've done everything but check the ports, I went to sleep with it still downloading, woke up to it still only 13% done

just got home from work...so its been downloading for over 26 hours....20% done.

I decided to completely hard boot my computer, unplug my router, open the ports on my router that were requested, turn off fire wall...everything....I even started to install all over again to get a fresh start.....still only going 184kb/s ....stuck at 8% with 22831.59mb remaining. My internet is fine, I've tried other applications, got on my xbox, no lag, played other MMO's, no lag....I can't figure out the issue. $:\$

Came here to post exactly this. I wanted to give the game a shot and bought it this morning. Let it run all day and it got stuck at 9%. If there's a refund option I will be asking for it.

I didn't buy the game so I can play next week. This is stupid and absurd.

@Dyros exactly, I wanted to give it a chance, but the slow speed is ridiculous....like I've said earlier... I knew it would take a long time because its launch week....but theres got to be something severely wrong for me to be downloading for 20+ hours and it still not even being 30% done.

In these threads, it would always be usefull if people would say what kind of download speeds theyre getting with speed tests, like http://www.speedtest.net/

Im getting around 16.90 Mbps with it, and the client usually downloads at 2100 kbps.

Wow, the support for this game is an absolute joke as well. Put in a ticket, explaining that their suggested fixes do not work. Got a link to the exact page where I told them the solutions didn't work and that was it.

Jesus f**king Christ. Haven't even played and I'm fed up already.

Wow relax people, check your speeds and list them here. I just downloaded the game in 30mins, and i have a pretty crappy connection

Same here just a patch took so many hours I phone my isp provicer to complain but apparently it was not their fault. It cannot be my compuer either because this one is brand new with all the latest video card, heaps of memory etc etc
So yes, I am glad people put this discussion because it shows that others have it too
