NBlade - How are you allocating your attribute points?

lypheb16_ESO
I'm level 18 and have been allocating my points to health and stamina evenly, but was surprised to realize that most of my current attacks are actually using magika.

I tend to open with Swallow Soul for the healing and then spam Killers Blade, with normal attacks and twin slashes in between. It's working well, but with 0 points in magika - I'm not sure I'm set up very efficiently.

How are other people allocating those points in the early going up to level 20?

    2-2-1 magicka, health, stamina.

I started out putting a lot of points in stamine. I thought I would need it for all my weapon skills and sneaking I would be doing. Ten or so levels later I'm dumping points into magic so I can spam my class skills.

Unless you plan to put a lot of stock into your weapons skills I would recommend keeping a 2-2-1 balance. You'll be able to keep attacking without dying and still use weapon skills.

Level 36 Templar here and I went 100% health. I use magic and stam glyphs on armor, 4 light pieces and 3 medium, with the appropiate armor passives maxed. I'm still under soft cap for health and just over in magic and stam regen.

I have no issues with magic or stam attacks and great surviability.

I think most people will switch to health at top level, when gear can be enchanted and tweaked. However, while leveling, I think focusing on what damage type you plan to do works best.

On my NB, I am doing 2/1/1 and keeping it fairly balanced, as I am going for a tank build that makes use of everything.

I think the above posts have summed up the real answer... it all depends on how you want to play the Nightblade.

At 27 now. I started with all health, then after some reading, I went with a mix of magicka and stamina at about 1-1 (ish) and complimented whichever one was behind by my gear enchants. I heal when grouped, and I dual wield when solo, and I think I've got it worked out that I do both well.

Pre-20, I had about all of my points in health, and by comparison, I think I was killing too slowly, as groups of three would leave me with less than 50% health or worse (as opposed to what we're all used to - leaving three or more dead without a scratch to show for it, right?). I'm personally a fan of 2(health)-2-1, the second two being the resource for three of your hotbar's skills, and the one for the resource of the other two skills.

Thanks for the answers. Sounds like I need to round out my magika allocation then. Cheers!

At level 47 I am all stamina. I open from stealth with surprise attack and it is almost a 1 shot on lvl 50 mobs. It takes about 90% health and I can just single left mouse click the rest away. If I'm dealing with multiple targets I usually eliminate one and cc the other. Also kiting with blade throw works really well for multiple mobs.

On my Nightblade I've split evenly between magicka and health so far and it works pretty well. I don't make much use of weapon attacks, though, mainly focusing on the class attacks (using stamina for dodging and sneaking).

After level 20, your class skills wont do much bigger damage than weapon skills.
Also weapon skills will start to buff much quicker then class skills, coz they use stamina stat, MAX stamina (yes it is considired as 2 different factors for caltulating weapon dmg) and weapon damage it self.
Class skills will continue to work only with magika and gain only 1 point of damage each time you waste stat point into magika.

So in the end, class skills are better at start. They have better damage at start. But weapon skills will become stronger after lvl 20 and will keep growing in damage significantly while class skill not.
Same goes with class Ultimates. Because they seem only scale with the Rank of skill it self.
Me personaly use class skills only for utility, not for damage.

I'm a little skeptical of this information. It sounds like you're saying that going with magicka (for instance, if you're a staff user) cannot meet the dps of going with stamina and melee weapons. Might you have some numbers to support this? My experience feels like each is as viable as the other, and the OP didn't say anything about a "melee" NB... I don't think (goes to check...)

I'm personally going 1-1-2. As a bow as my main focus. I use class skills when up and close..it's secondary. I buff my gear of eat some grub for magicka. Having 0 issues with mobs...boss fights I use a bit more magicka, but it's all been doable.

Depends on weapon really. If you'd bow, you could go almost full stamina. It would increase all bow damage, with class skills saved for utility (since they would not hit that hard).

The best advice is to focus on one resource and use that resources skills for damage, using the other to get utilities.

Remember that your base attacks will always use stamina, don't forget to use them, they do decent damage. Too many people seem to try and use only skills, that can leave you resource starved.

Partly depends on your racials. I wanted a bit of a balance, so I went redguard with final attr at 17-17-15. I could probably go lower with stamina as I have passives that reduce stamina consumption of weapon skills along with passives to reduce cost of sprint.

I tend to lean more toward magicka and hp. We get an insane amount of sta regen from passives, but very little magicka regen.

There's nothing worse than popping invis, but not having enough mp for a surprise attack.
