Feeling indifferent about their looks tbh.

Somewhat overwhelmed that they will be trial enemies that only 0,001% of the player base can master. Either that or the world events where they show up will be underwhelming. You don't get to kill them so I guess they pop up, summon some baddies and leave. That's it.

The charm behind the Dragons in Skyrim wore off when I realized how easy they were to fight and how clunky their animations were.
Welcome, Moon-and-Star, to this place where destiny is made.

I play healers or DPS often for vet dungeons and trials (NA, CP810+). I play mostly elves or Argonians.
I primarily play Damage-Based stuff in PvP, but occasionally I'll play something tanky or got the heals.
I also love gaining more knowledge both metaphysical and mundane regarding TES lore.

I also occasionally role-play, but I prefer playing the game.

It wasn't really the problem with dragons themselves - the entire Skyrim world had a weird tint to it.

Agreed, sadly...even if you are in the trial population, how much can you enjoy a story or dungeon in a competitive activity, where everyone is too worried about dpsing/healing/tanking at the highest level? Watching a video would be even better, at least you have time to see things.

Don't get me wrong, raiders deserve their content but I'm sad that I'm missing stories.

Dragon's in Elder Scrolls were never that great in my opinion, they feel very force. Not a fan of the Wyvern design which is really common nowadays in modern fantasy too.

Rather have Chinese inspire dragons since they are very underused in fantasy or six-limb dragons instead.

Where is there to go after dragons? They always seem like the final chapter to me, if they weren’t in chapter 1 to begin with.

I played Skyrim for hundreds of hours and never bothered with the dragons because it felt like, once I started down that path, the game was over.

I just think skyrim dragons are better.
They have 4 limbs and huge wing span.
Eso dragons have their wings on their front limbs.
They look like their crawling, instead of standing high and mighty against those poor humans in their presence.

ES lore is quite broad, I don't think once you've slayed the dragon you run out of ideas.

Typical high fantasy sets up dragons as the most powerful creatures in their world, which does leave you at a dead end.

They're generated from multiple distinct parts. I'm not 100% sure if the generation is procedural at runtime, or if they were hand made by the art team. To an extent, they're like the dragons in Skyrim, but with a bit more variety.

I'm going from memory right now, but Skyrim only had about 15 dragon models total. A few were pretty memorable, but aside from a handful of unique ones (Paarthunax, Alduin, Durnirviir), they were all reused. Even some of the unique named ones were simply copies of non-named variants.

That said, if you didn't spend a lot of time hunting dragons, you might not notice.

      I hope it's neither.
ZOS mentioned them as a new kind of world event, not a typical world boss.
Maybe it will be an "Elite World Boss".
So I imagine it will be harder to defeat a dragon compared to the DLCs world Bosses(which harder compared to Base game).
I can solo most if not all World Bosses in the game, including DLCs and chapters.
A typical DLC world boss usually requires no more than medium sized group(about 4-10 players more or less).

A dragon will probably require more like 40+ players to take him down and no one will be able to solo it.
It will probably have 200M Health, serious resistances and special attacks xD :)

*All the above are just speculations about the upcoming Dragons, nothing to take for granted.

Some of that is a deliberate art choice. Skyrim's dragons were very washed out, because everything in TES5 is washed out. It reinforces the feeling of the cold, harsh, environment. But it does mean everything looks faded. ESO, in contrast, is much more vibrant.

It would actually be cool if the dragon fights were similar to what Capcom did with the big boss dragon in Dragon’s Dogma. You got a window of time to wail away at the thing’s massive health bar, then it flew away. Players from all over the world had to take turns chipping away at it until it finally died. The Ur Dragon, I think it was called? Then you got loot after it died, based on the damage you did. Now that was one massive dragon.

      Good times.

“More unique” is not a valid adjective.

      Something is unique or not.

      More varied would be acceptable.

The Ur-Dragon was a really interesting fight. I mean, across the board, Dragon's Dogma had a lot of really interesting concepts getting floated around, and the Ur-Dragon was one of those.

I don't think the Ur-Dragon fight would really fit an MMO, per se. Actually, let me step back, I know it would, with multiple players in the same instance, but those kinds of massive world boss encounters can easily turn into a lagfest. Either way, that is a really cool game. Never played the MMO they made out of it, though.

@starkerealm DD had real kernels of greatness scattered amidst the weird. The pawn system was absolutely brilliant, and the combat was so much fun, with the changeable classes, that it took a very long time for me to get bored with the game. I had high hopes they would make a 2nd Dragon’s Dogma, but alas. I had no idea they made an MMO out of it instead. Huh.

I hear you about the lag that would probably be an issue if there were such a massive fight with so many players. I would still love it though. 😜
