On Sunday 24 March 2019, at 1:30 AM the system was taken offline for "maintenance" until (ostensibly) 3:30 AM. This was not scheduled and I was not aware of any prior public notice of it. While I was playing TESO, a system message was displayed declaring (in Deutsch) that the system would be shut-down in 15 minutes. Apparently I missed the message in English that probably proceeded it because I had logged-out to Character Select, the chose a character and logged in again.
Currently, the forum page headings prior to a player signing-in still assert that the system is scheduled for maintenance on Monday, 25 March 2019 from 4:00 AM until 8:00 AM EDST as it was previously scheduled and disclosed. Is that assertion now outdated? Or will Bethesda shut the megaserver down a second time a previously planned?

✭✭The first one was emergency maintenance... an exploit, or a problem with the server, something like that.
I have read both reasons posted on the forum as 'probables', and haven't cared to look further.
The regularly scheduled server shutdown is still the one that was planned, and is going to happen in a few hours.The problem with society these days is that no one drinks from the skulls of their enemies anymore.0
