I don't expect many to be in my situation, but I'm currently holding nearly 4,000 writ vouchers and don't have anything to buy. I could just buy stuff to sell on the guild store, I probably will, but I am not inspired to do these writs as the reward vs time is not really there anymore.
I was thinking there might be another worthwhile reward for master writs. Much like the 'outfit' tab, have another tab for crafted items, that only unlock from doing master writs. All show as CP160.
How it works is, if you complete a writ for, as an example, the Armor Master set, specifically, Sword, Purple grade, Infused trait, Nord style and cash it in, you will be awarded the writ vouchers but you will have on your crafted tab, access to an Armor Master Sword, Purple, Infused, Nord.
If you get another writ that is Armor Master Sword, Gold, Powered, Redguard and complete it, the tab will now show a Gold Armor master sword, with the choice of Redguard/Nord and the choice of Infused/Powered trait. So you only need to complete 1 gold grade item to bring the entire item, including its styles and traits up to gold tier.
After you have completed a writ, you will not receive the same style writ again. Given all the sets, and styles in the game, and the rate they are released, very few will ever run out of writs, and if they do, the next update will come out and they'll be back at it again.
This will mean however, that Jewelry writs will become much more finite as they do not have style writs, which is probably a good thing. Jewelry writs value would go up and they would be worthwhile to complete. The drop rate would need to be reduced.
I rarely use crafted sets as they are not BIS, but this would add a great deal of value to the master writ system if it had a collection bonus.
I'd also say, to prevent OP'ness, you can only have 1 item equipped, ie you cannot have 2 swords, or 2 rings, you'll need to use a ring from another set, and have 1 sword 1 axe.
Master writs with particular trait styles and grades should drop from the loot table if already complete:
1) Gold grade - If RNGesus deems you worthy to receive a master writ of gold grade, it will not be one that you have already completed, unless you have completed them all.
2) Nirnhoned - Once you have unlocked the Nirn trait of an item, it will not drop again for that item. This is so that those that want to keep doing Master Writs to add styles to the collections don't have to fork out for nirn just to get that style added.
This also adds another layer of value to Master writs, people won't simply ask, 'can I do that writ', they will actively seek out sought after writs to sets they actually want for their collections.
This would definitely get me back into churning out the writs as the master writs will always be worthwhile in some way, shape or form.
Edit;
It is worth noting that Crafted items are not BIS. This just allows for players to use crafted sets for emergency situations (tank quit? can't completed Cloudrest and need a tank to go down?) You can now easily, assuming you have unlocked it, out fit a stam dps as a tank, or a mag dps as a healer. They may not be the best tank or healer, but they should be able to get the job done on vet dungeon / normal trial if they know what they are doing. It would do wonders for the que finder if DPS can just slap on Brass Fortress + Turog Pact, adjust a few skills and away they go. People don't do this because they do not want to carry around a tank set on their DPS characters.
