Events are horrible

They have a year....literally a year.... to make up some new stuff.

I swear if I give that pig apples one more time.....

Looks like someone (me) is not doing the event because I cant take these mind numbing fetch quest for the like 4th time.

i do think it wouldnt hurt to innovate a bit from time to time....at the same time the question also remains where to spend the time - innovatinv old events or producing new content...or having fewer events that get more innovated...i don't know.... but a lot of these events have become another daily crafting writ...or doing your taxes... a "have to get through today before the fun" - its like the broccoli you had to eat as a child before getting your ice cream

Yeah I understand that but is not like they need to do a ton, the groundwork for rewards and what not is already in place, just give me a new quest

I wouldn't go as far as to call them horrible, but I do agree they are mundane, predictable, and not at all memorable.

I remember a Halloween event in EQ around 2001 or thereabouts. Huge skeletons romping around dropping rare loot, and even one year we had GMs running around turning us into bats, vampires and zombies and giving out insane speed and flying buffs. I think I remember a similar event involving GMs in WOW too some years later.

It's those type of unexpected interactions that make experiences very memorable. Those were the days...…….sigh...

could be cool if more events just meant additional rewards for doing the things you were already going to do anyway, rather than specific dailies that are only active for the duration of the event

They had a year and they added to it. They don't need to replace what happens in the event every year. That would be annoying.

It would be nice to have more to do during these festivals. I actually think the Jester's festival is one of the better ones because at least there are festival quests instead of just using the same dailies which are available all year round. But compared to what I've seen in other games ESO's festivals are sorely lacking.

New Life isn't too bad, at least there's more of a variety of quests, and the Jester's festival has gotten a bit better this year with the addition of things like hitting players with pie in Cyrodiil and then killing them (not my thing, but it is another festival activity) but more quests and maybe some mini games would be very welcome.

Inhabitants of Ilessan Tower and Silumm woefully agree, this event is horrible.

Also, I noticed random mobs turn into an ugly pile of greyellow dirt when they die. Not cool.

I have to agree they could have had us festoon different NPCs in different zones, or go to different delves for items steal something different than a pig etc but they just keep it the same.
I'm kind of glad they actually added some new achievements even if I did finish them all bar one in less than a hour.

I started to completely ignore events after the first year... the only one I really enjoyed was the first event, the one where you'd get your box rewards by doing anything in the game you liked... this kind of forced silly quests is not the thing I like to do, so, I don't do them.

This is the first time I'm participate, but I hate the pig part too. I try to sneak, drink invisible potion or run as fast as I can, but she still caught me. Add bounty to me right at the moment I was nearby a guard.

Isn't this a casual and peaceful event? Why need to involve stealing and killing?

They should turn alliance war into pie war, or cheese war.

I love all the events (maybe not the PvP one) and faithfully run as many dailies as possible every day on all my chars. However, this leaves almost zero time to actually play the game. Yesterday I managed to have my khajiit extricate Sai from the clutches of the Duchess of Anguish, and the day before I didn't do anything at all aside from dailies.

It's entertaining, okay. But does bring my gameplay to an almost conplete stop. Nothing advances while I'm running in that event treadmill.

Edit: which leaves a bittersweet feeling when I look at the Jubilee. Crafting dailies hell yeah!! Fast and easy, great rewards, and I already do them every day anyway. Delve dailies, apparently not all 'delve dailies' count as delve dailies. It's gonna be a mess figuring out which do, and spending all day pushing characters through that treadmill as well. Cyro dailies. Why... whyyy.... I am hoping for a truce where each alliance can enjoy one town peacefully with minimum aggravation. Pledges and trials. Am I glad I installed an addon recently to tell me which trial coffers are on cooldown and which are not. Although tbh I don't think there will be time to run trials at all, after all the pledges. We'll see. The last week is probably the best. Freedom to do what we want. Rewards everywhere! It will still be 5 more weeks of event treadmill.

I wonder when I'll be able to go back to questing and stuff.

There's so much more to enjoy during this and other events. You don't just have to do the quests. I personally enjoy playing my lute or dancing on hedges by the wayshrines. Or pelting people with mudballs and cherry blossoms. Got a questionable meat sack? Throw some mystery meat down in busy event areas, stand back and watch the fun. Delves too easy and quick with your high cp char? Unequip your weapons and punch the bejeezus outta some mobs (I do this on my main  ). Yesterday I went into Shor and mostly just rode around on my hobby horse mount having fun with people in both my alliance and opposing alliances and throwing pies in big battles, and not just for the achievement, but because it was a blast. This festival is only going on for two weeks, why not take a break from the grind and just have some fun?

I feel jester and new life are about the dumbest events in this games entire history load screen load screen moronic quests... just a noob zone wayshrine fest I'd be all for events of they were less of a hassel than day one dlc load screens... pig quest way to long pointless bounty, dc sparkerlers and crap way way way too long for something so dumb. AD a triple warping load screen stand off of boring proportions... now rinse and repeat each day and it's stupid would it kill you guys to add in a randomized set of quests in different zones or perhaps the same zone less warping!? I literally want to give that pig to the butcher just so i never have to lead it to that jester ever again

I agree that events can get mind-numbing when they feature the same old quests and especially when nice things are locked behind them so that people feel they have to get all the shinies. For new players this is a non-issue but the exchitement for events has probably worn off somewhat for older players. Still, I personally had a kick out of the stick mounts and it's nice to listen to the Jesters' jokes to break the monotony of regular play. I guess the trick to help with burn out is to figure out if the rewards are worth it or not, and allocate time accordingly. I know people who don't much care for the Indrik so didn't feel as pressed for tickets and so on, and therefore didn't feel they had to participate a lot. The one thing I don't really enjoy is the limited time to do event-related achievements, it's the most stressful aspect of events imo.
