hun you do know players cant actually choose where their pet bear followers goes.
also, if you move around and are patient, eventually the npc will respond. its simply because of loading issues that its slow/unresponsive.
What are Natch Potes? Can you eat those?

Bears and birds are difficult for players to place in a specific spot to intentionally grief other players.

Bears and birds have been a continuous nuisance everywhere in the game and have been the subject of many complaining threads.

Yeah, I've been on some dolmen zergs where jokers pop a cake on the chest spawn point. Somewhat annoying.

Relax with the bananas... it's fairly easy to get the interaction text with the npc to appear if you just move around a bit. Further, players cannot control where their pet will stand so this is just a coincidence. There worse thing to get riled up about ;)

That being said I have never understood why the devs even have pets block interaction from certain angles. I cant think of a single instance where this makes sense at all, yet some programmer/game designer spent their time implementing this odd mechanic.

Chance are they haven't. The client might just take the nearest NPC / interactable object in the direction you're looking, and if it's something that has interaction disabled, it's a blocker.

You do realize that the feature/mechanic you just described is not something that has just created itself right? It's a system the devs have made this way.

Exactly. I despawn mine at wayshrine before I head into any city. But a lot of people (eh.... mostly those who don't bother to read the game forum...) can't be arsed to do so.

What is needed is for Bears and Birds to be attracted to Questionable Meat Sacks. If a bear is blocking access to a crafting table, all one need do is toss a QMS over there in the shrubbery to draw the offending bear away.

Isn't this just to annoy people you're grouped with? I see people trying this a lot, but it never blocks anything for me. Even when the cake is directly over a dolmen chest or when a quest-giver is popping out of the middle of it.

Those bears' giant butts blocking everything and the nauseating flapping of the winged twilights right up in your camera, though. Ugh.

Yep. Which works in dolmen farms where everyone's Xed up, but has no effect on randoms. Similarly Tythis and Nuzhimeh are both prone to getting in the way of party members. I mean, this kind of trolling only really works with premade groups on comms, when you'll hear someone belt out, "Goddamnit Tythis!"

I'll keep saying, despawning them is overkill if you can simply assign non-pathable areas for them. So, they can't get in the way of certain interactions.

My stam warden on PC EU does use the bear but doesn't do events. Definitely not her.

Oh please compared to the troll toys which are mud balls and pies, this is BEARLY an issue. We really just need a pie/mudball immunity toggle for those of us who do not enjoy being pelted constantly as a form of harrassment. and yes sometimes it IS harrassment, when you ask someone to stop and they do not becuase they know theres nothing you can do about it.

The pet problem is much larger than holiday NPCs. They block doors, wayshines, other interactable things, due to the atrocious targeting system they provide safety for people in pvp... pet targeting, hit boxes, and blocking things ALL need to be looked at.

To clarify its not pets but rules when you can attack someone with pie. Can't attack them when they are interacting with things.

Twilight need to be reduced in size to match the size of a scamp. Would solve a lot of issues (trial view blocking, pvp hiding behind it, annoyance in cities).

Not sure about the bear tho. While reducing the size of a twilight would certainly be welcomed change even by sorcs themselves, reducing the size of the bear can make a lot of wardens salty.
