I am using templer healer build from https://alcasthq.com/eso-magicka-templar-healer-build-pve/. He suggest Passives for Mages Guild but the skills he listed, none of them belong to Mages Guild. Can anyone point out if I would still benefit from completing the Mages Guild skill line because it takes a long time.

Yes you will benefit because of the passives when completed will give you more magica for having a mages guild skill slotted also mage light boosts your spell crit, which boosts your heals.

Alcast is a great source for beginner DPS. Try to find a healer main. That's my suggestion.

Thank you for your help. The skills he suggested, none of them belong to Mages Guild though.

Thank you for your suggestion. I already have a 810 cp templar healer. I am just trying to make her better :)

It's probably all about "Remember, Healers often need to change a few skills out during runs, especially in Trials." However, there's no list of skills you'd want to have available to swap in. Possibly Inner Light when you need the extra magicka? The other possibility is that it reflects a need for using different skills as you build up the character, and you would have swapped those out for endgame, but you could re-spec away from those passives, too.

Those passives are only going to help if there's a specific MG skill that would benefit. I note the same list on all the healer builds, regardless of class, and none of them seem to slot MG skills.

He probably just hasn't updated that part of the text since a previous version of the build. Healer's don't really "need" any Mage's Guild skills. You can consider Inner Light if you want a bit more Max Magicka and Recovery, but it's hard to find bar space for it on a healer.

@pollywogs1970 your assessment is correct. The primary skill template Alcast provides for that build does not include any MG spells. Therefore, there is no benefit from any of the MG passives. The reason you might consider gradually picking up those passives is that, as Alcast says, healers need to be prepared to change skills based on content. Should you ever want to level up and slot a MG skill, those passives are handy.

-Structured entropy is sometimes used by templar healers to get major sorcery, though I think most use potions for this.
-Inner light is sometimes slotted for the reasons mentioned above, though I find bar space too tight to allow that.

As an example, when my templar healer runs pugs, she wants to boost her damage component so will double slot the MG ultimate to not only help with that but benefit from the MG passives of having a MG skill slotted.

As far as building MG level, that is accomplished not by doing the MG questline but by finding MG lorebooks and doing MG dailies (which send you to public dungeons).

From your experience, is it faster to build up mages guild skill line doing lorebooks or dailies?

    Lorebooks complete collections.

I simply do a MG daily each day and gather lorebooks as I quest/explore. Before your horse is 60/60/60, voila, MG is maxed. :)

To put a finer point on it, I believe each lorebook nets you 5 points of MG rep and each daily earns 10.

I play a Templar Healer myself and never swap skills. Doing so might be better in theory, but in practice there's a certain amount of muscle memory involved during gameplay regarding which skill is where on your keybord, the order you use them, etc.
Having to think about your skill layout rather than having internalized it, would waste precious seconds.
