No, because PC would be at an unfair advantage because of some of the add-ons and I think I would quit this game If I had to give up my add-ons. (Yes I remember I was firmly against them in the early days but I can admit when I was wrong).

As nice as it would seem, the fact is that consoles do not have access to addons as us PC players do, which may be an unfair advantage against them. We have addons that notify us about combat, automatically repair our gear (with kits) and recharge our weapons (with gems) mid combat, give us map locations and minimaps, auto-craft writs, savable and keybindable set/skill swaps (Alpha Gear), etc.

As of now PC players have a lot more tools at their disposal, maybe one day when consoles have access to the addons as we do, but until then its best to keep them separate.
No one cares about this I bet console would even take some #1 leaderboards. The no add ons make console players slightly better IMO

I'd love to have a combined server with XBOX-PS4 but i don't see it happening anytime in the future

Microsoft has already taken the first steps towards integrating PCs and Xboxes. Cross-platform is their goal. Sony will be the problem, as usual.

See allot of No do to addons being a unfair advantage but i can't see any real advantage only time savers
i don't even use the buff /skill tracker addon any more since it's part of base game now and it works just fine

I think controller vs mouse is a mute argument for this game it's not a twitch shooter and i like to switch from k&m to gamepad on PC - not every one uses a k&m

If any thing console might have the upper hand with built in voice chat when it comes to pvp

People can say if they would like ESO to be cross platform or now, but no one can appropriately answer the question asked as we have no idea if it should or not.

We do not know how the game is designed enough to answer nor related legal agreements.

How Fortnite is setup it completely irrelevant. I do not think anyone here can speak to the design or legal agreements for them either.

It's bad enough that it's cross continent let alone cross platform. Ping rate and lag already gives people in some regions an unfair advantage over others. I assume going cross platform will not help that at all.

I don''t see how it would work to link PC and consoles. ZOS treats PC differently, giving PC access to PTS and not to console, and PC gets access to new versions of the game first, etc. And then there are all the PC add ons.

Not only add-ons, but the complaint about PC having keyboard and mouse would be there as well which would be seen as another advantage over consoles.

Plus probably a whole other list of things that haven't been thought up yet.

It's not like keyboard and mouse would have any advantage over a pad in ESO.

No it would be unfair in my eyes for certain types of content, due to Addons on PC.
Like scorepushing, getting into trial weeklys, PC ppl would have an advantage and thats not really fair IMO. (not saying console players are bad, but it is a unfair difference in my eyes)

It wouldn't be very fair. PC players have

    - Addons
    - Better, and more precise controls (K&M ftw)
    - The ability to get a head start on new content earlier than console

And I don't know a lot about consoles, but aren't they locked to 30 fps? I realise frame rates don't mean a whole lot in the grand scheme of things, but smoother gameplay, especially in Cyrodiil, can make a world of difference.
Having said that, some of us on PC would sell our first borns for 30 fps in Cyro.

In effort to make things even the PC version would get "streamlined" by removing addons for example.

Wouldn't be fair for console players. There gameplay is too different from ours. It would cause issues with player vs player. Still you know won't reject it. Would rejoice to play with my brother over on console eso.

There is no disadvantage to cross platform and telling yourself otherwise—oh those poor console plebes—is just exclusionary, reductive bs that really hurts what could be an immensely large and social population. Game after game is proving this belief (that PC/ mobile/ console can’t play together) as false.

Lots of PC peeps have garbage-tier rigs that run this game at 15FPS and that crash with 90% of the addons anyway. The latest Steamspy hardware survey still has most folks using GPUs and CPUs that are almost 10 year old.

Next generation consoles should usher in cross platform, full stop. There’s really no logical argument against having three times the player base.

No, I'd rather the bigoted, patronizing garbage that non-console players spew out stay away from the greater console community, thanks.

I’ve been on both communities and I find console far more social and easier to find competent people with whom to group by far. So anecdotal experience is anecdotal. Or are you speaking without having actually played on console?

Edit: Misread your post. And yeah, I find PC people more high and mighty by far. But again, only my experience.

Only advantage is in their epeen or GPU measurements. When you have console plebes completing the same content without PTS practice or the billions of addons that automate functions and gameplay, I think it’s clear who would have the advantage in an open playground.

@Peekachu99 You are missing the "all things being equal" angle.

All other things being equal between two opponents (skill, lag, etc), the PC player would have an unfair advantage with a better FPS, add-ons and Kb+m.

Of course there are better console players than PC players, but that is missing the point.

FF online have ps4 and pc cross platform and its horrible. You need an awsome PS4 player to not see your group getting draghed down by the console player and this is not an addon thing.

But well ESO isnt as complex so it might not be that bad.

Xbox to ps4 still would make sense.

Cross-console would probably be a great idea, but as others have said, PC has advantage with addons. Even just in PvE, raid notification, auto-repair etc. give some level of bonus. In PvP it would be really unequal. Addons are there because htey benefit us, but that is also why it would be unfair to pit console against PC.

I don't know any addon that gives pc any big advantage. Maybe dressing room. Gives a few seconds swapping gear. But everything else makes literally no performance impact. Since pretty much every single addon is for convinience. Literally.

What add-ons do you refer to when you guys bring that up?

Also, few of my friends in the game now exclusively play with controllers and they within the top players. They came from console to pc. Using controllers and minimal add-ons too. And still outperform most keyboard mouse and heavy add-on users. That addon argument makes no sense. You can do just as fine without them. In combat situations that is. Since 95% of the usually used add-ons are only again for convinience.
