Magblade DPS PVE (HELP)

As the title says, I am looking for help to increase my DPS, all the info I have is below:
ITDzcCj.jpg

People online are saying they're hitting 30K dps or so...

I hit 15K on a good day, and 7K ~ 9K a lot of the time.
I use purple food (witch mother brew/spring loaded infusion).
I use tri restoration formula but I can change it to something else.
I am almost always on vamp lvl 4 except days where I miss up using blade of woe and end up feeding lol.

All class passives are unlocked/maxed.
All destruction staff passives are unlocked/maxed.
All racial passives are unlocked/maxed.
All vampire passives are unlocked/maxed.

What else am I missing, or am I just in that spot atm until I hit cp 160 and use gold gear? I'd rather not waste my matts on crafting gear beyond blue just yet, I also have roughly 6 traits in each light armor and ~6 traits on heavy chest, so I can craft a decent set.

My attack style is usually the following:
(Buffs > Debuffs > Grimm focus > Switch bar > HA > Debilitate > HA > Swallow Soul > LA > Force Pulse > switch bar > Spectral Bow > Switch bar > Repeat & reapply buffs/debuffs if needed)

I don't always land the exact rotation and miss an LA or so, but I don't think it should cause that much of a difference?

If anyone requires any more info I will provide just ask me because I don't know what else to add on here, all and any help is appreciated.

Wait until 160 till worrying about your DPS(since equipment is inconsistent till then). For now just worry about practicing rotation and weaving. Also I would recommend using elemental blockade. Very strong.

@wlkanos , I'll second that; no point bothering with sub-CP160 gear, but if you have to craft something, craft Julianos until then, it's a good workhorse set.

You'll probably want to use more ground DoTs than you run now. Blockade is powerful. Twisting path is great to have too. While you're getting hang of things, you can refresh those two in a single batch with Crippling Grasp (best take this morph instead of Debilitate, but it's not crucial). After you have laid down those, you can just do Swallow Soul (with light attacks) while keeping up Siphoning Attacks and Merciless, shoot bow whenever ready, and when target is below 25% health, just switch from Swallow Soul to Impale.

Also, if you have sustain troubles while you're practicing rotation, switch to Atronach mundus, losing damage buff from other mundus is better than having to stop your rotation mid-parse because you're out of magicka. Absob Magicka glyph on your back bar's staff (make it infused for best result) is an awesome sustain source (it will proc off your blockade regardless of which bar you're on, and blockade should be always on the ground). And of course, while practicing, slot Elemental Drain and don't forget to keep refreshing it when it runs out, it's both sustain and added damage.

P.S.: Also, important note: I've just noticed from the screenshot that you have same enchantment (in this case fire) on both bars. It's a bad thing, because same enchantments share same cooldown, so if Blockade triggered your fire glyph from back bar staff, your front bar fire glyph also goes on cooldown - no benefit of having weapons with same enchantment type; it's true for all glyphs. Try absorb magicka back and either fire or spell damage front.

Awesome! Thank you both for the great advice @John_Falstaff and @zvavi .
To be honest I was hoping it was more of a “wait for gold lvl 160 gear” Because at least then I’ll know I’m doing decently ok for now xD

I actually have elemental blockade and switch it with twisting path every now and then, never used both but I’ll give it a twirl

Sustain is not that big of an issue as HA does a decent job keeping my magica up but that could be different when I add elemental blockade to my rotation until I master it, so I might switch to Atronach as mentioned.

@wlkanos , gear won't make or break your build, really. ^^ And by all means, do use both Blockade and Twisting Path together, both are powerful damage skills, and Blockade will proc your back bar glyph all the time (twice a second if infused say, fire or absorb) even on front bar, it's crucial. As for having more sustain, it's helpful if you want to practice full light attack rotation - something you'll eventually want to be doing either way.

@John_Falstaff that’s new and very very useful info about the same glyphs sharing the same cool down, I had no idea..
    Thanks!

You don't need gold gear man(most of my characters walk in purple+golden weapons), also don't feel down even of your DPS is low after 160 CP, since you get more attributes up till 300 CP (and your damage as a magblade scales from max Magicka as well). I wouldn't recommend spring loaded infusion since you get nothing out of the stamina part of it, if you don't feel like magicka recovery try finding blue food of max Magicka+health.(bloody Mara can work if you need one which is for all levels). I would aim for a consistent 18k on a dummy with 160 CP and proper gear(purple +golden weapons with 2 sets and another monster set).

PS: funny thing that only me and John answered, since I know him in game.

Yup, it's amusing we've jumped into the same thread. ^^

Also, I think that on a dunmer, Witchmother's Brew will do just fine as buff food, it's easy to come by, and the recipe is dirt cheap at about 1-2k gold at traders. I frankly can't sustain blue food on a dunmer magblade for the life of me, not with light attack rotation.

(Also... I hope not to derail the thread by that, but this enchantment thing is a pain point, so I'll drop @Masel's name here. See what's the problem with 'intuitive' nerf of DW enchantments? Enchantments don't work intuitively by design to begin with. Not everyone knows about that shared cooldown gotcha. Even experienced folks sometimes don't know, and comes without saying that most newbies don't have a clue. I do hope that ZOS has a plan on doing something about that.)

Btw @John_Falstaff and @zvavi I managed to get my DPS to 18K ~ 15K for most of the time just by adding elemental blockade and focus my rotation better. Also my magicka pool regeneration is noticeably better by just changing my back bar staff enchantment to magicka absorb. Thank you both, and I feel satisfied with where I am at now.

I could delete this thread since I feel satisfied with the answers and results I got, but I think this thread could help someone else who might be in my shoes one day, so if there’s a rule or something about deleting threads when I conclusion is reached I hope this thread could get an exception or something.
