Do you want class change tokens to be implemented in the game?

I really don't care much. I have at least one of each class. I don't find it slow or hard to make a new class or grab skyshards and level skill-lines and passives either. So I wouldn't use it personally. At some point I'm running out of content anyhow and than it's a good way to keep busy leveling a new char.

But if someone else really wants to waste real life money on class change token or whatever, I'm not against it. It's not a huge advantage or p2w or anything, just saves you some time. Doesn't bother me at all.

I'd more more upset if the cash shop sold things like exclusive combat buffs, items that gave stat points and lucky boxes with legendary raid gear. All the crap you have to deal with in for example Asian f2p mmos.

i see no reason behind not having a class change token if we can buy a race change, crafting boosts and what not in the crown store. just add it already... make casuals and zos happy

I voted the way I did only because I spent rl money via the crown store to become a Vamp on 1 character.

And that character now sits around as a mule because I don't like how she plays as the class she is.
But she is the only one I would like to change.

I do plan on utilizing the WW on my Sorc once I get her up more in the CP levels.
I plan to change her from magsorc to stamsorc. But that doesn't require a class change token.
My other 8 characters... I am happy with them.

A class change means developing three whole skill lines you couldn't use at all before. The distinction between that and rolling a fresh one isn't worth it.

And you're also wasting all the effort you put into the old class. Those skills would be gone completely.

I suspect the option would only appeal to the few players who have only one character on their account. The rest would just use a different existing character when the meta changes.

Achievments is not why I want one. I want it for the sake of saving a character I may not have made the correct class choice on and didnt realize till much later.
Playing your character the way your character should play is all that matters. Play as well as you can but never betray the character. Doing so would make playing an mmoRPG pointless.

As a player who have 15 toons would say yes, cause all 15 are playable both pvp and pve, with max most crafting, guild skillines, max hourse, and would like to make some changes so I would have 5 classes in each war alliance (messed up little bit and have 5 toons in each, but not 5 classes)

Apparently Rich mentioned class change in a recent interview with MeinMMO about Elsweyr...

    https://we-connect-gaming.com/entwickler-verraet-warum-2019-fuer-eso-etwas-ganz-besonderes-wird/amp/

    Translated Relevant Bit:

MeinMMO: Many players love new classes, but they do not want a new twink , they have to level up forever. Is there possibly a kind of token for a change of class with existing heroes?

Rich: We have something in the making, but I can not say anything about that yet. But we are working on something and we understand that the players want something in the direction.

It'S so easy to level a new toon so no.

That's not the whole story though.

There is mount training. There is crafting research/morif knowledge. There is story progression.

Sometimes I want to quest while looking for a dungeon/trial group but can't since I'm not on my main. Sometimes I want tp do some master writs while I wait, but again, I can't because I'm not on my main. It would be nice to be able to do all of these things while i wait 30+ minutes for groups to form.

It'll never happen since ESO wasn't designed in this way, but it would have been nice if it was. The class change system functions perfectly in FFXIV.

No, it's contrary to the whole game structure and would be a massive diversion of development resources to implement, as well as an open invitation for groups to have another reason to kick members - "You're not FOTM class so should have used a token - /kick".

That's why I don't play FFXIV full time because it's a casual MMO. It's nice to come back and have fun but my main MMO will always be ESO because that's what it is. MMORPG's without alts don't feel the same

I'd rather have guild lines be account wide. (Dark brotherhood, fighters, mages, psijic, thieves, undaunted)
    Along with achievements.

Such things would make leveling an alt much less daunting.

Not really. I just want more things to be account-wide such as achievments, mount training, crafting motifs, and skill line unlocks to minimize the amount of things I have to re-earn on each alt.

Seems like a moot point. Zos recently stated they were not interested in adding such an option. That seems to mean this thread will not be read by Zos.

They will read the thread. A statement that they are not going to do it means they are not going to do it, that's all.

Big assumption. A statement they are not interested in it (much stronger than merely not going to do it) means they have no interest.

Would seem more likely they would skip this thread due to the lack of interest. With as many threads created each day it is more likely I am right as Zos cannot possibly read all. They likely skip the dead horses they are not interested in.

No because it's easy enough to level a character to 50...too easy infact. By the time you do all harbourages, coldharbour questlines your character is around level 30 ...throw in some pvp or dungeons and you struggle to stop them from levelling. The scroll xp boosts and event xp boosts make it even easier.
I'd rather have faction change....feels strange that my redguard is AD.

Yes, would be great for new players to give them a token to test two classes on their first character.

No - Otherwise you end up with achievements on a character who didn't really earn them. Flawless Conqueror on your stamina Warden? Nice! Oh you were a Magblade when you got it, no big deal then.

Will recreate one of my character to make her another class. Second time.
First she was warden. I didn't like wardens, but liked her. After Summerset was announced (and no class there) recreated as sorc. But she - by roleplay - likes necromancy... Damn, I just got her to 50 and most craft few days before info about Elsweyr!

But we will not have it. So... that's one of the reasons why I save screenshots from creating characters.

No. Switching a fully leveled class to another fully leveled class by opening your wallet is something I'd expect to see from some of the worst F2P gaming companies.

Aside from them wanting you to spend as much time in-game as possible, and how this feature would circumnavigate that design, it could be abused. Think about when a new Update lands, or a new class arrives, and the more competitive (and financially able) players just buy into the new meta while everyone else has to go the normal leveling route. Some would definitely love that, but the have-nots would lose their minds on these forums, not to mention the bad press coverage elsewhere.

We already can....max toon for mag and stam versions of each class plus a dk and warden tank. 12. I've had it set for a longgggggg time. And that's on xbox! Did you think that we couldn't do this already??

You realize the difference between a class and a spec, right?

It is a rare mind indeed that can render the hitherto non-existent blindingly obvious. The cry 'I could have thought of that' is a very popular and misleading one, for the fact is that they didn't, and a very significant and revealing fact it is too. - Douglas Adams

Class change doesn't make a game casual. It just makes it less tedious.

I don't consider doing the same mindless content over and over again "hardcore". It's madness, if anything.
