Flying Mounts

With the new expansion coming out, it is probably time to start considering the flying mounts. Griffin, and possibly a young dragon. I am sure both would be a good selling crown item...

Personally it wouldn't really work. For WoW, they have a GIANT open world that can cater to flying. In ESO, we would be hitting a load screen every 30 secs(especially if speed would affect it). I could see maybe a flying mount that could glide from high heights, negating falling damage.

Wayshrines = welcome to 2019 transportation system. Also the invisible ceiling in ESO is not near high enough to allow any kind of decent flying and i think it would take a lot of work to raise it retrospectively.

I have so many mounts from crown crates and others, it would basically make them all obsolete. Plus how would that work in Cyrodil?

Even in the upcoming dlc the dragons are locked away and only released by someone doing something stupid. And judging by the glare the last one gives the idiots that released it, I sincerely doubt those three will be offering to play taxi.... If there were thousands of dragons suddenly appearing in order to let players pretend they're in Skyrim, the game would be over for me. Between wayshrines and port to player with friends, guidies, random people you ask in zone chat adding flying mounts would be pointless overkill.

Absolutely not to a flying mount that can actually fly above things but if it's mechanically the same to all the other mounts just making one with an animation of it flying just slightly above the ground would 100% be something I would be interested in.

Flying mounts? Maybe not. But gliding/hovering mounts might be interesting -- mounts that technically function like ordinary mounts, but hover a bit over the ground. And with the stick mounts we're getting soon, I'd love to see a broom mount tbh.

How about this idea? You buy a flying mount for 6000 crowns. The first time you fly, it dumps you off from 20,000 feet up, and you die. The creature then flees from your wrath and you never see it again.

Repeat next time you have 6,000 crowns to waste.

I'm sure they'd go for that one. Guaranteed money-spinner.

I would 100% leave ESO if they added flying mounts. Flying mounts wouldn't bring anything to the table for ESO would more screw the zones up than anything else. IF the game would have been designed around flying mounts that would be a completely different point, then I wouldn't mind at all.

Prettttty sure one time Rich said if anything even remotely close to flying mounts would come out.. at best they would more-so be "levitating" rather than flying. And that was a big if.

there are flying mounts in archeage, and gliding (you can travel around on a hang glider and other things like it) and ship battles - you can own several types of boat and ship, I LOVE IT!

If I could handle the grind/keep up with the gear by farming, I'd still be there.

Zos has basically said never to flying mounts. The game is not setup for it and would take a lot of work just to make flying mounts possible.

I'd say "YES", but just for us Altmer. Afterall we're the only ones having griffins.

Joke aside, no. It's fine in WoW because you load the (almost) whole continent but in ESO...(And, even in WoW, not everyone is enthusiastic with flying mounts anyway.)
