Problem with targeting larger bosses on gamepad

I often encounter the problem that i cant at times target larger bosses because i dont get the target outline unless i look at them in a certain angle at a certain distance...has anyone else the same problem? Is there anything you can do to improve that? I dont know if this happens too on mouse as i only play with pad....

You can lock on with r3 btw. Even when picking up adds (as a tank) you can stay locked on to the boss and turn directly to the add and stay locked > taunt > turn back to boss. Same if you’re a dps too.
