7-0-0 or 5-1-1 for Tank?

I usually tank with no gear. I've completed vHoF.

I do run 5-1-1 on my tank sometimes but mostly 6-1 with the 1 being medium. Stats are 42k/24k/23k. 25k resists unbuffed. Could easily run less resist and still be maxed with buffs. Run whatever makes you comfortable as long as it gets the job done.

But more max stats =/= sustain.

7-0-0 actually gives better sustain. You lose around 600-700 Magicka/Stamina, but the Constitution passive becomes more effective.

You shouldn't have an issue sustaining on a 5-1-1 build just because of not having more put into the constitution passive. If 7-0-0 works for you, then deffinatly use it.

5-1-1 for sure, you WILL hit the resistance cap of 33k very easily anyway if you're using tanky sets and buffs. So you might as well be getting the undaunted benefit, and a smidge of light/medium armor passives to regeneration.

7 heavy, all sturdy. block reduction that you get from it outweighs that little bit of extra stats that you get.
Also if you prefer running sword and board on both bars, put one magicka and one stam enchant on each shield. try to get your mag and stam WITHOUT shield equipped around the same value, this way when you barswap your max stats will change, which means you can control which resource you get back from using orbs or shards
