Increased 'free' crowns is bad for the market and their business. They make less money, or like PoE had, you get to the point where things have to become ungodly high in cost. 3k for a mount? Nope 7.5k now

I haven't seen any proof that increased eso + crowns would be bad in any way, if anything it's likely to increase the amounts of subs which would mean that they'd be making more money.
Also, things already are ungodly expensive. 3k for a mount? A mount that is essentially just a reskin of one of a select few base models and requires no additional rigging, boning, animating, or other similar work? It's as ridiculous as the 140k house they're peddling now.
Sure, a palace should be expensive, but 140k? Are you kidding? And that's for the unfurnished. And even furnished the place is still as dark and sparse as can be. Do you have any idea how much work and money it'd take to put enough lights into that palace to make it not feel like it's perpetually haunted? You'd probably need to fill all 700 slots with just lights to make the place bright enough to not feel dark and depressing!
Frankly, their macro transaction store is way overpriced. A reskin should not cost 3k crowns, half that at most. Now, something truly unique with their own skins and animations? Sure. Bump it up to 3k. But don't just adjust a texture and/or throw some armor on a base model and be all "Yup, that's worth 3k."
Half off crowns is essentially half off the entire store, which is where the prices of virtually everything above about 2k crowns should be. For the most part the smaller items are valued fairly. But everything starting at about the 2k mark tends to really not be worth that price, generally only about half that price. I'd be happy to buy the palace for 70k unfurnished or like 87.5k furnished. That, while still a large chunk, doesn't seem overboard, especially considering the amount of effort you have to put into the place just so it doesn't feel gloomy and too spacious.
I really don't see a problem with crowns essentially having double the buying power they have now. Digital goods can't go out of stock, they take absolutely nothing to produce, and the money itself has already been spent, they don't "cash in" your money as you spend off your crowns, after all. I mean, really, all of these things are already added to everyone's account, you aren't really buying them. You're just buying the ability to unlock them for use.
I'm sure the prices of items in the store make many people feel like buying isn't even a remotely good deal, I know I feel that way and I still generally spend 40 bucks or a bit more more per month on crowns because, at least for now, I haven't had any other place to use my monthly entertainment budget. Sure, I'm not obligated to spend it, but I have the money, no reason to save it as I allocate that much just for "fun stuff" and haven't had anywhere else to really spend it. But I sure don't feel like I'm getting my money's worth and I have a feeling that there's a great many who don't feel they are, either.
I'm sure there's quite a few who would swoop in and defend ZOS's right to charge w/e they want to, but I will say right now that just because you buy something doesn't mean you think it's a good deal, it just means you wanted it enough to, at least, begrudgingly spend money on it. However, there's a breaking point to all things. At this point I'm probably going to start just not spending my budget or actively looking for other places to do so. Frankly, things are almost as terribly priced in this game as they are in Runescape, and their pricing of both their goods and the coins they sell is pretty much the worst I've ever seen in a game.
No houses in the game cost 140k Crowns. Get out of here.hope0burns wrote: »It's as ridiculous as the 140k house they're peddling now.
