Just looking to get a general idea of how many people are playing from the OCE/Asia region to see if ZOS FB statement is actually somewhat accurate, i know that not every single player will see this. Got to pay for my ping to be at somewhat acceptable levels on top of eso+ .

asuzab16_ESO✭✭✭I'm in Japan and my ping isn't too high. I usually get around 170ms. It could be better of course, but I don't have any issue in PvE. In PvP, it is good enough even if I feel like under 100ms would give me a slight advantage, especially because of that damn stupid animation cancelling.0

CelticStones✭✭✭Yes, my ping too highRural NZ, rockin 1/2 mb up n down for the last 5 years..... but something changed this week and now the I am the proud user of a 7mb download connection. Managed to get 1/2 the dlc vets done in a week, which were impossible before this. Ping has dropped from 400+ to a lovely buttery smooth 240 on a good night. Now I can see the red and 1/2 the time avoid it before it kills me.4

PVP is worse but not unplayable, unless I make the (terrible, no good, very bad) choice to set foot in Vivec during NA weekend primetime.AD is the best looking faction. What I would give to be under 100. The game-play must feel amazing.1 -

✭✭✭✭✭I fully understand the performance issues that Oceanic players have, but the problem as always is that people who want to make a fair point muddy the waters by making a frankly pathetic poll that cannot remotely achieve anything.
The Facebook statement - https://www.facebook.com/370789406653075/posts/816267168771961/ - isn't primarily about performance, it's about the non-viability of launching a local server for those players given the limited number of players concerned and the resulting inferior game experience they would enjoy in terms of e.g. group and PvP activity etc. Counter that by all means, but do so by contesting the number of players, not by making immature and biased comments about the ping.
The problem is highlighted by the comment of one of the Oceanic players on Facebook who says that when he plays on the NA server in his timezone the server is dead, but when he plays at weird hours i.e. prime NA time it's so full he crashes. That's an indication that the number of players in his timezone isn't remotely viable for a separate megaserver, which is the only point ZOS are making.
I'm 100% in support of Oceanic players, but far from advancing their case this poll sets it back by trivialising the issue in immature terms. Just out of curiosity how many active players do you reckon would be needed in peak/ off peak times for a server to be viable0 -
