A good tank is able to buff the group dps and survivability. This. In ESO endgame tanks have more functions to fulfill than just tanking. This setup is good for pugs though, because even when all the rest wipes tank can read them easily.

And about invigorating drain... Actually you are wrong about invigorating. In general it can be much stronger heal than clanfear as invigorating heals 20% missing health every 1s for 3s so in the end it heals 60% of missing health, so if you have around 60k hp and you use it let's say when you're left with 20k hp it heals you for 3*(40kHP*20%)=24kHP while clanfear would heal you for 21kHP always, and the lower HP gets the better invigorating becomes, not to mention it costs much less, doesn't require 2 bar slots and regenerates your ults - the only and biggest drawback - it's a channeled skill - so yeah clanfear can be better but it depends on situation.I'm done with this game because of ZOS pushing us into Vengeance, because they don't know how to fix Cyrodiil.1 -

you say noobs like its a dirty thing lol; I once played a game I will not name where like you I tried every raid every dungeon remembering mechanics from countless bosses for 6 plus yrs now I am a noob in ESO and running solo sitting at 602 cp waiting for max cp till I jump into grp content and you know what I like ESO because I can be a dirty filthy noob and run solo if I chose.
Tanks are groovy healers are lovely but dps are necessary.

But that is absolutely useless in PvP. If a potato has higher damage than your build then your build isn't a threat to anyone. And in PvE it's so selfish that most groups won't even bring you into vet trials. You keep bringing up the fact that you have done vFL. What about all of the other vet DLC dungeon hard modes and vet trials? You can't base the effectiveness of your build off of vFL.0 -

Good points and I mentioned it again multiple times because people were saying it can't handle Veteran dungeons for some odd reason yet it easily can. As for pvp sometimes could seem useless and can be depending but often people swarm you and even if just a few seconds not seeing your health or bursting you as a mob thats enough for your dps to take advantage if do. From my perspective, the term “noob” has 2 meanings, people who are genuinely new to the game but want to learn how to play and complete content, and the other are people like the OP who are give thier opinion on stuff they have no idea about because they’ve done 1 or 2 things while struggling and think they know better than people who really know better. Hence noobs teaching noobs.
And btw, you don’t need to wait till max cp to do group content, 600 is plenty high to do 95% of the content in the game.1 -

Lasinagol✭✭✭I used to use that build back when Sorc tanking was asking to be kicked no matter what...after rollong a Nord Dk I learned that it isn't just about survival and group play, from a tank pov, is support to the party. Cc's, buffs, damage mitigation...debuffs...if the OP did vet dlc content, then I honestly hafta ask what the rest of the party consisted of.

Yea keep focusing on your targets that are spread throughout the room as your dps goto each one 1 by 1 to kill them while you sit there being pretty much useless. That’s until you get to the first boss, then you heavy attack every what? 20 seconds because you don’t want to “over taunt the boss” and just perma block away while adding absolutely nothing to the group other than a meat shield that will probably use aggro once or twice. So yea, go pug a vet trial or god forbid apply to a respectable trial guild and watch how fast you get kicked out the group or laughed off the server. I’ll see you tomorrow tho, after I get the new skin and wtf ever that other dungeon gives you since, you know, you only have to beat them on vet without doing the extra *** since zos caters to scrubs like you.1 -

I solo qued and 3 manned veteran fang lair without healer on last boss with only a couple wipes on last boss because never did mechanics / learned them quick. So your statement is false on most parts. My job isn't damage it's to keep aggro and stay alive nomatter what. If you can die in a duel vs anyone then it's not a tank. I have yet to find a player who can kill me 1 vs 1 and even 1 vs 2 at times often because I am a proper tank. Again you have a hybrid not a tank but we can disagree and that's fine.

Yea keep focusing on your targets that are spread throughout the room as your dps goto each one 1 by 1 to kill them while you sit there being pretty much useless. That’s until you get to the first boss, then you heavy attack every what? 20 seconds because you don’t want to “over taunt the boss” and just perma block away while adding absolutely nothing to the group other than a meat shield that will probably use aggro once or twice. So yea, go pug a vet trial or god forbid apply to a respectable trial guild and watch how fast you get kicked out the group or laughed off the server. I’ll see you tomorrow tho, after I get the new skin and wtf ever that other dungeon gives you since, you know, you only have to beat them on vet without doing the extra *** since zos caters to scrubs like you.. My ego is almost too big for my head, but if you’ve seen the amazing *** I’ve pulled off on this game, you’d understand why. All this would’ve been avoided if the OP just posted his build and been like “look what I did guys” But as I was reading I see him talking *** on people who know how to actually play the game and do it way better than him. Virtually telling people not to run certain sets because “if you have under 50k health, you’re not a real tank”, and being like “it’s better to only use 1 bar even tho that means there’s 6 less skills for you to use” Pardon my French but *** that. Sometimes I slot it but if you get low health where invigorating drain is strongest you probably are dead or soon to be dead. Goal is never to get so low and even with major defiles and 2-3 heals and am full health if near death. Without major defile /minor its basically one. But ya vs crazy burst the clannfear spamming is better but vs a weaker opponent invigorating is nice for the ult regen. A good tank is able to buff the group dps and survivability. Obviously it's easier to stay alive with a lot of health and not swapping, but the fight will be longer, it's nice for progression runs, with pugs, etc... But it's not optimal. If you can survive without that much health and convert it into group utility/buff? Why not do it? Being good is also removing most of the extra safeguards, and relying on your skill, to achieve optimal results.
I've once seen a DD with 30k health, who said he didn't like to die... He actually had decent dps. For me it's the same thing. You can do that but it's not necessary.
This. In ESO endgame tanks have more functions to fulfill than just tanking. This setup is good for pugs though, because even when all the rest wipes tank can read them easily.

And about invigorating drain... Actually you are wrong about invigorating. In general it can be much stronger heal than clanfear as invigorating heals 20% missing health every 1s for 3s so in the end it heals 60% of missing health, so if you have around 60k hp and you use it let's say when you're left with 20k hp it heals you for 3*(40kHP*20%)=24kHP while clanfear would heal you for 21kHP always, and the lower HP gets the better invigorating becomes, not to mention it costs much less, doesn't require 2 bar slots and regenerates your ults - the only and biggest drawback - it's a channeled skill - so yeah clanfear can be better but it depends on situation.

Relax, man. It's obvious that in organized content any tank which doesn't do standard tanking schedule will be kicked after first pull, or of this is lfg craglorn normal trial, dps will simply leave, because waiting for tank replacement in lfg group is rather pointless.
In non-organized content there are several types of groups from tank POV, one of which, though rare, is when you meet 2 skilled savage dps who doesn't care about anything they just need to complete nuke dungeon without waiting, discussing etc and for their level of skill advanced tank or healer support is irrelevant, if boss is on tank, tank is not dying and even uses horn, this is more then enough to complete any vDLC non-HM fast and without headache, if one-shot mechanics are fulfilled. For such kind of groups, OP maybe ideal tank, because "good old 35k" tank will be pissed off by all that mess those savage dps are doing and may stop tanking and start chatting.
But thing is those savage dps are rather rare to be counted as criteria of one-bar build viability. In most cases dps in dlc vets without tank support will be overrun by mobs and will vote kick after couple of wipes and simply leave if vote kick failed.1 -
BloodStorm✭✭✭Of course its not the most supportive build but if you like being annoying in PvP and are not great at mechanics and especially want to tank veteran non-DLC to get your monster sets its great. I think its a fun and great build. If you think going all points stamina and or magicka is valid for dps and with sets all magicka and crit besides a food buff for health stat then logically tanks were designed mostly to be pure health / resists. Resources are no issue and engine guardian is overkill at times but better safe than sorry. I think its a great starter build for all base game content and veteran dungeons and DLC but if people want to see it as a noob build then good. If it makes new players enjoy questing slowly and killing or they want to zoom by people in cyrodiil to escape gankers that is fine. I mainly wanted to make a vampire tank that was immortal vs players and werewolfs but realized it does fine just heavy attacking adds and mainly bosses when needed and spamming survivability. Its simple and if you just want to get things done without issues. I don't like guilds so I very rarely do anything more than pvp or 4 person content but play a lot. Of course some better support builds exist and ebon is nice for trials but I don't do guilds other than vampire guilds or RP ones . You're an Imperial, I see. That probably helps explain that then.
Magicka Regen looks like it would be an issue with your set up. But I guess you get around that with "Dark Conversion" which I'm guessing is some kind of sorcerer move that gives you back magicka. I find that heavy attacks are often a risky business to rely on in PvP for resource gain due to the endless vomit spew of stuns, knock backs, interrupts and everything else.
Is giving up impenetrable for infused/divine traits worth it for PvP? Because it didn't seem like it was to me, though I exclusively play none-CP PvP so that may be why.
