Packaging.
Sony and MS like to replace entire files as its simple for them.
So if a data file is 10GB and there are 1GB of changes you get the whole 10GB again.
At least with Sony ( dont have an Xbox ) the update system allows for patching files rather than just replacing but patching a 10GB file on a console isn't exactly fast either. I never know which method a game will use to update either. Almost feels random.
Is there a way to force the update on Xbox when you're away from the console ?
yes, ZoS is free to use any installer they like on PC but this is restricted on console.Fluke.Slywalker wrote: »I guess it's gonna be the usual 30gb+.
The PC update can replace only the necessary pieces of data containing change whereas on console the entire package data needs to be removed and replaced by the updated content, hence a much larger file.
Got my smartglass on the case for when it hits lol.
