Khajitt Nightblade - tips for build

Alright, guys. Say hi to T'abarrah, a shiny, new Nightblade who are preparing herself for returning to Elsweyr once the border gates open.

My main is an Altmer Mage, so I have only dabbled in Nightblade before. I would like to make her a typical Khajiit - sneaky thief. Assassin-type focusing on dual-wield, perhaps also a bow.

Tips on fitting builds?

There are a few craftable sets that are pretty good: Hunding's Rage, Shacklebreaker, and Night Mother's Gaze. Spriggans is another set that's great on any stam toon; you can farm for it in Bankorai or buy it from the guild traders. Bone Pirate's Tatters and Hulking Draugr are good sets that can be easily farmed from dungeons. Battlefield Acrobat is another solid option that can be obtained via PvP rewards or purchased from guild traders.

As far as skills go, it really depends on the content you're doing. PvE skills will be Endless Hail, Caltrops, Poison Inject, Siphoning Strikes, Rending Slashes, Surprise Attack, Rearming Trap, Relentless Focus, etc.

You probably need to give people a little direction in terms of what content you expect to play if you want build advice.

Since there's not much to go off of, I'll just address what comes to my mind.

I'm not the biggest PvE player but my main dps character I play is a stamina nightblade. Nightblades have a lot of resource recovery with leeching strikes in their build, which generally allows them to run LOW on the stamina recovery side of things. Nightblades also have the best self buffed DPS out of all the classes currently. Sets you could run would be night mother's gaze and hundings, which are BOTH craftable, which means if you take the time to farm the materials, you could craft/have the set crafted for relatively little to no cost. With those two sets + a monster set (preferably velidreth) you could start to do vet dungeons and normal trials. From there, you could farm normal trials for better gear such as vicious ophidian or twice fanged serpent.

PvE Front bar (Dual Wield): Beast Trap, killer's blade, rending slashes, surprise attack, relentless focus.
PvE Back bar (bow): vigor, leeching strikes, poison inject, caltrops, endless hail.

Now for PvP, which Is what I tend to play more of, you have three styles of play. There's a sort of brawler style nightblade which boast defence over offense and can be a pain to kill. This play style also doesn't utilize cloak outside of healing or to escape being outnumbered. You could run heavy armor or medium impregnable with DW and 2h.

The next style, which you see more often, is the "rollerblade" or "stealthblade" which has a good balance of damage and resources in exchange for defense. This will require you to make use of cloak for not just healing but for escape and an Instant line of sight. Personally, I run shackle breaker and spriggans, which allows me to use multiple cloaks and have solid damage and penetration for fighting. You could also run medium Impregnable here along with spriggans, or another damage front bar.

The final style of play for PvP Nightblade would be the infamous GANKER. To give gankers their credit, there is SOME sort of skill required to be successful as a ganker, contrary to what a majority of cyrodiil believes. The difference between your run-of-the-mill AD sitinstealthalldaylong nightblade and a good ganker is the difference between taking 5k damage and saying "ow that hurt a little" and being completely one shot from stealth and going 'how the hell did that happen." That being said, I do PERSONALLY believe that ganking is more of an entry level build and doesn't require as much skill as a brawler style would require.

Also, for PvP, a DW and Bow setup is really only viable in duals, from what I've heard at least.

And since I kinda broke my rule of 3 styles of play by discussing DW/Bow I'll go ahead and mention the user @TheRealDarkShady (his in game @). He runs a very interesting style of nightblade which uses the bow bar as his main source of damage in fights rather then the 2h. It's very interesting, you can see it live on twitch or PM him in game asking about the build.

Thats it as far as my knowledge goes, someone probably knows more than I do.

Thanks a lot, guys. Sorry that i didn't give you more to go on. I don't do PvP, so it will first and foremost be for PvE. Mostly solo play, I play more for the lore and world than anything else.

I might want to run some dungeons later on once I get into my char and class, but that's as far as that'll go.

The gear you guys have mentioned, is that for Veteran? Any tips on what crafting vocation I should prioritize?

Any of the gear listed will work for the type of content you intend to do. The sets I listed that can be farmed from dungeons can be acquired doing the normal version.

As far as crafting goes, I highly recommend prioritizing all of it. Start researching traits ASAP since it takes so long to get them all.

What platform are you on? I'd be happy to help craft you some gear if you happen to be on Xbox.

What I hate about stamblade in pvp is, lethal arrow can only 10k to 15k damage from stealth.

I just love sniping mobs for 45k damage from stealth.

And I occassionally go sniping with lethal arrow from stealth in the city.

Thanks! I'm on PC, though. :)
