Pet Magsorc 1-bar at large (power creep issue?)

I love the concept of the 1-bar Magsorc build - my ping really is an issue and a lot of clicks simply do not register due to lag all over the place.
So I found the build and did it on my magsorc who I neglected to play for years (I'm rather a stamX guy) and thought to give it a go.
The results are outstanding and also frightening.

For the record: I'm not a particularly good player, not any kind of min-maxer or competitive in pvp, I can tank (I believe) good enough, I can't put out much DPS either because I don't really care for the disciplined rotations, and still now with this build I can:
- solo basic game dungeons with ease in normal
- solo some dungeons in vet too
- solo any group content in Craglorn
- cut myself through in vMA without paying attention to any mechanincs until the last boss really
- wreck any non-dlc world boss completely alone (even the Glenumbra werewolves which I always considered as a challenge because as I mentioned I'm not a good player really)

Don't get me wrong, this is not a complaining post, I do enjoy getting into contents I haven't really played before and we do these now with friends together who do not have the 1-bar petsorc setup: technically I can tank, heal and damage the same time with this very one character an a limited but good enough way so our little group can be adaptive while enjoying and learning some aspects of the game we have not touched often before.

The only eyebrow-raising concern I have is this: is it ok to be so "OP" with an overly simplified toon with a repetitive usage of 3 skills in a non-disciplined manner and still be able to literally neglect any challenge the game throws at us in 90% of the time?
It's so shamefully simple to spam shield, put down the elemental blockade and hold the left mouse button. Sometimes press the bird heal too.

So it feels like quite an unorganic but huge step up, not sure if I sould think about it as a feature or a hack.

Tell me what class cannot solo normal dungeons and some vets?
Tell me what classes have a hard time in vma in current day and age?
Tell me what your DPS is as a 1 bar sorc?
All mags got shields, nothing speciall about sorcs. shields are even capped at same %.

One bar Templar: Beam, jabs, blockade, spears, shield with ult..

Just as easy as sorc. So building builds that sacrifice damage for simplicity is a hack?

All the content you've described can be done with any class just as easily.

I don't see what this has to do with Sorcs. The only reason "1 bar" sorc builds are even a thing is because we have so few useful spells... the rest are just toggles and buffs.

Well, ZOS could either redesign pets completely or leave them as they are, and if left as they are, they need to be competitive because it's 1/3 of the class skill tree. Without a redesign - which I would love to see - there really is not much you can do besides making the pets quite strong unless you want the summoning tree to be a completely dead skill tree.

Besides, you probably won't hit top DPS with that setup. Of course breaking 30k with ease is something, but ST is still king, and you won't hit raid DPS with a pet Sorc probably.

I wouldn't call it OP. I would call it a handy build for people of any level and experience to enjoy. I have read so many people who have young or limited capability friends/children who play this game where a build like this is great for cases like those.

Just because it's simplified for PVE doesn't mean we should discourage it or nerf it. If someone wants to run it for whatever reason they desire, nice.

But as @Kikke said, sacrificing damage for simplicity is all some people need while playing the game.

The 1 bar pet sorc build is an issue

As far as being able to solo: normal some vet and world bosses. No i can do that on just about everything

Vma is really the issue, it shouldnt be that easy.

Shields arnt a problem either. The shield on the 1 bar is weaker that even non pet and magblades shield pre nerfmire.

Pet sorc has always been an issue in vma. They were the ones with the 30k shield ignoring mechanics. Ya zos nerfed that at a massive cost to non pet and magblade.

even with that 30k shield pre nerfmire, shields have never been the issue with why pet sorc is easy mode. Pet sorc is easy mode because of the pets. They take agro off you, they catch damage for you, they can act as line of sight for you.

also zos, when you nerf the 1 bar build. Remember that petsorc and non pet sorc are completely different. Non pet sorc is not easy mode. Its harder than magblade because of the lack of sustain. You already make non pet suffer because of pet. Dont do it again

Why call for a nerf on solo content build? If it’s so easy mode, why not run it yourself? I could understand if it affected PvP or group content, but you’d get laughed at for using this build there. You know ZoS record on nerfs. It will get messed up and affect other areas.

I dont see a reason to nerf this build. Yes, it can make some content quite a bit easier for some players, but its nowhere close to being an ideal dps build. I consider this build to be more of a solo tank build than dps.

It is a niche build and not something you're going to take into trials, vet dungeons, etc.

I have a character with this build that I run through vma when I am on a crappy laptop or just want to take my time. I hate playing this build because of the absolutely horrible dps. Like others have said, you can solo most things with other classes and this build will take you 3-4 times longer.... it's just safer and easier.

I have run my magsorc with only 1 bar since the game released, I do not do group content though, but every piece of solo content I have beaten no problem, I do not even run pets, hate them, destro staff, encase(the morph that explodes), unstable elementel wall, crystal blast, surge and dark exchange.

5 piece julianos and the rest magus gift with willpower rings and necklace.

Everything in delves and overworld apart from world bosses just melts.

I did solo alot of world bosses with that build before they nerfed overworld stuff to oblivion though, and that was without decent crafted sets then as I didnt have the research to craft them.

Easy doesn't mean OP. Any class can build that way. They can tank, heal and deal damage at the same time but every build that does that will do everything in a "meh" efficiency. That's the trade-off. You sacrifice damage to get tanky and have heals but not all of it, making your tankiness and heals only "enough" to clear the easy content you mentioned. Pet Sorc isn't the only class that can do this, every class can do it. Pet Sorc just does it the easiest way.

Pretty much this. 1 bar none ept sorc could do the same without even beeing min-maxed. Same with well pretty much every class.

magplar would probably be even safer while doing this.

Seems that you're good enough to master this build, and this statement you made waxes illogical. If it's not challenging enough for you try another build.

On my magsorc I can only solo normal content. So, I really don't understand why you made this post, other than to flame magsorcs AGAIN, desperately grapsing at another nerf. Honestly, I see other classes and builds soloing the same content, so I don't think this is a magsorc issue at all. Sounds like you just need to move on from ESO, that you've reached end-game, and now it's time for something new.

That's a raid setup, not a single bar setup for soloing content. Are you arguing a pet sorc with a proper raid setup should not be viable for raids? If so, why?
