Hello there!

I played this game in...lets call it Vanilla. By that i mean from launch and to what then was max lvl (cant even remember what max lvl was, only that you had to grind the last few lvl's because there was no real content to quest)

Have to admit the comercial on various sites did awaken the mmo hunger in me again, so i have a couple of questions:

1. How long would it take for me to get from "Vanilla Max lvl" to todays max lvl?
2. How populated is this game really? Will there even be players on my way to max lvl, or would it be an endless grind without seeing ppl
3. Cant remember what race i played, but i know it was a healer :D
4. Will my character still be avaliable, or do i have to reroll, and if i have to reroll, how long will it take to get to max lvl?

Thank you in advance would you be helpfull to answer, and maybe tell me what the game is like today

    1. Depends on how long you play and how efficient you are, whether you have the ESO+ boost, XP scrolls, potions etc. I’d recommend taking advtange of the upcoming double XP festivals. Still it’s gonna be a grind. We’re at 810 CP now. Even if you were kind of grind crazy I’d guess a couple of weeks? But I’m not sure.
    2. Pretty populated, you’ll see people around for sure. It only gets quiet in the wee hours of the morning.
    3. Ok
    4. I’d assume your toon is still available. But on the off chance it’s not, getting to level 50 is easy.

Obviously depends on the time you are willing to spend. YOu can level to 50 in like a day by surfing dolmen. Some people can do it even quicker by grinding. The path from CP1 to 810 is a bit longer though. I started playing last July and I'm at CP 670 now.

Population on PC/EU ist pretty huge. Don't worry ablut level gap though, everybody under CP 160 is scaled up, so you can play in the same group with CP 810 people without problems.
    3. Cant remember what race i played, but i know it was a healer :D

That's not a question, but I say "yes" anyways.:)

No idea. My best guess is that all chars on abandoned accounts should be restorable, at least if you still have your login details or if you can prove that it is really your account.. But ask the support. The second part of your question.. .see question 1.

My advice would be to log in and play. Don't be influenced by the negative responses some will give on the forum, just try it for yourself. Perhaps start a new character to refamiliarise yourself with the game especially as it has changed very substantially since you are likely to have played. The game is hugely successful and well populated. I can't help you on time to level questions because it can take a couple of days or a couple of years or anything inbetween, the choice is yours! I strongly recommend, however, that you play for the journey rather than the destination and if you haven't played in a long while then suddenly playing an old veteran level character won't make you of much use to any high level group or guild so just take your time.

    1) max level is cp 810, however you get most of the good stuff at cp 300.
If you have not played since launch you will be way past 300 doing overland content and random dungeons.

    2) well populated, main issue is finding an good guild for your content, note that most guilds asking for members are trading guilds who is not good for progression stuff, they are also not good for new players.

    3) Log in an check, unless the pure stamina races you are golden and even they works well enough.

    4) your old character is still there as long as you remember or can recover the password.
The magic of Champion points is that its shared on all characters. Get to cp160 first.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

The thing is that you will not enjoy it. It is not a game that has a rewarding end game. The enjoyment is in the journey, not the destination. The base game story and the development of your character(s) is an exceptional trek. At least for the first few times. If that type of RPG isn't your thing though I suggest looking at shooters or action-adventure games. Zenimax has several that may be your sort of entertainment. Here is a link: https://www.zenimax.com/library. If you decide to give ESO another roll though just relax and enjoy it. It is quite a bit different game than when you played before.

Depending on that is your definition of end game.
If will be some time before OP has cleared all the HM trials.

I came back to the game in 2016 after a longer break and basically started over. I did enjoy a fair share of PvE before I got bored and I don't see why this should be different for someone returning now.

Get the ESO Plus membership for a month so you have 'free' access to most content. Don't bother too much with gear before lvl CP 160 (gear cap). Take your time leveling up to (re-)learn your charcter and the combat system so you don't become another of the many clueless max-level players.

The endgame IMO is PvP, even if it's not in the best state.

It also depends on how many chars you have at vr14. You will get 10 cp per veteran rank when you log each char in, if I remember correctly.

Yep VR14 becomes CP140, and should not take long to get to CP160 now...

If you do decide to come back and enjoy the game I do not recommend doing any of the new content yet. Roll a new toon of a faction that was different from your first. Play that one all the way through to the end and then do Cadwell's silver and gold. Then go after all of the new stuff. This is an excellent guide to playing the game as originally written: https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/413807/what-order-should-i-do-esos-story-arcs-a-guide
