Stamina Healing

Stamina healing became viable with Wardens, largely thanks to Fungal Growth and Secluded Grove, but it could still use some help. Stamina healers excel in large group healing and are a great addition to trials, as echoing vigor's area heal potential is so immense. With the recent addition of Symphony of Blades, stamina healers can manage group resources without having to spam orbs. I think it's time to commit to actually making this competitive, rather than simply niche and doable. This could be easily accomplished by looking at a few sets and maybe even skills.

Gear:
Redistributor

This set is often called useless, but it's actually decent on stamina healers. Its problem is one that is shared with most tri-stat sets; that it suffers an identity crisis. Redistributor provides a bit more burst healing potential, which is a major pain point, as stamina wardens have to face their target with a narrow cone to burst heal, short of using an ulti or something like Earthgore. I'd love to see this set committed to stamina healing, and reworked a tad to improve healing range at the cost of some potency.

Current:
(2 items) Adds 1206 Maximum Health
(3 items) Adds 1096 Maximum Stamina
(4 items) Adds 1096 Maximum Magicka
(5 items) When you heal yourself while at full Health, you heal an ally within 15 meters of you for 2347 Health. This effect can occur once every 3 seconds.

New:
(2 items) Adds 1096 Maximum Stamina
(3 items) Adds 1096 Maximum Stamina
(4 items) Adds 129 Stamina Recovery
(5 items) When you heal yourself while at full Health, you heal an ally within 20 meters of you for 2000 Health. This effect can occur once every 3 seconds.

Powerful Assault

This set is basically SPC / OLO for stamina, except it falls somewhat short of the mark. The health bonus isn't great when you compare it to the stats provided to magicka healers on the aforementioned sets. I'd ditch it in favor of crit. The 5-piece provides a unique bonus, allowing it to stack with Major Courage, and it is also easily applied. The problem is significantly smaller than Courage and it only affects four targets. There has to be some trade-off to keep it unique, but it could stand to be better. I believe keeping the lower benefit is fair, but the radius and number of targets could be better.

Current:
(2 items) Adds 1206 Max Health
(3 items) Adds 1096 Max Stamina
(4 items) Adds 129 Weapon Damage
(5 items) When you cast an Assault ability, you increase the Weapon Damage and Spell Damage of up to 4 friendly targets within 10 meters by 164, for 15 seconds.

New:
(2 items) Adds 833 Weapon Critical
(3 items) Adds 1096 Max Stamina
(4 items) Adds 129 Weapon Damage
(5 items) When you cast an Assault ability, you increase the Weapon Damage and Spell Damage of up to 6 friendly targets within 15 meters by 164, for 15 seconds.

Hunt Leader

I've never really tested this set, but I always thought it looked interesting. I thought it would be better in PvP, but warden pets in PvP aren't always reliable. Where this set could shine could be providing utility via pets. Applying a debuff that benefits the entire group would open up a lot of possibilities for this set. This could help stamina warden healers have more options than Dawnbreaker with Grove or Barrier for healing. This change would also make the 5-piece bonus a gradual benefit, which I would prefer over the slow bursts it currently provides. This would also be the first Staminasteal source.

Current:
(2 items) Adds 1096 Max Stamina
(3 items) Adds 1096 Max Stamina
(4 items) Adds 129 Weapon Damage
(5 items) When your pet attacks an enemy you have also attacked recently, you heal for 2433 Health and restore 1216 Stamina. This effect can occur once every 5 seconds.

New:
(2 items) Adds 1096 Max Stamina
(3 items) Adds 1096 Max Stamina
(4 items) Adds 129 Weapon Damage
(5 items) Your pet's attacks apply Minor Lifesteal and Minor Staminasteal to the target for five seconds, causing attacks against the target to restore 600 health and 300 stamina per second to the attacker.

Skills
Living Trellis (Living Vines morph)

I never find "when the effect ends" heals to be particularly effective. I need heals now, not later. This would give yet another spell to stamina users.

Current:
• Grow vines to embrace you or the lowest Health ally in front of you for 10 seconds. The vines heal the target for X Health each time they take damage. This effect can occur once every 1 second.
When the vines expire, they heal the target for an additional Y Health.
Heals when the effect ends.

New:
• Grow vines to embrace up to two allies in front of you for 10 seconds. The vines heal the targets for X Health each time they take damage. This effect can occur once every 1 second.
Affects an additional ally. Costs and scales with stamina.

Soothing Spores (Fungal Growth morph)

This is a good ability. I just feel the morph could be a tad more unique.

Current:
• Seed a large area of mushrooms that heals you and all allies in your frontal cone for 822 Health.
• Heals for 15% more on allies that are within 8 meters of you.
Converts into a Stamina ability. Allies near you are healed for more.

New:
• Seed a large area of mushrooms that heals you and all allies in your frontal cone for X Health.
• Applies a damage shield for 10% of the amount healed for three seconds.
Converts into a Stamina ability. Allies healed gain a damage shield.

My stamden healer is currently using Powerful Assault and SPC. Looking at the new monster set, too.

Living Trellis is a very important skill for most magden PvP builds as recasting the skill fulfills the “when the effect ends” condition, perhaps changing the Leaching Vines morph would be better

There's really no more reason to have stamina healers than there is to have magicka tanks

Sorry, but I don't see why would you call stamina healers viable. On which kind of content? I can see it being used on pvp, but why would you use a healer, when you can go support dps with heals? Or tank with heals?

I'm sure nobody would go with stam heal on trial, cause you can use your purge one or two times and Symphony of Blades would be useless there, 18s cooldown is too long. Maybe sentinel would be better, but you still don't help with magicka. And you couldn't even heal them in some positions, cause healer isn't always near team and you won't have any decent heals on distance. I guess there would be no ele drain also (according to popular builds I found, they don't really use destro staff there) and no combat prayer. Soothing spores don't even have minor endurance and minor intellect, which is massive disadvantage of this morph. So second healer would have much to do for you.

I guess you could go with that for some dungs but many people don't even want healer there so that doesn't even prove anything.

I see stamheals use bow and dual wield but that doesn't help in any way for your team. Dual wield is kinda okay, cause you can get major evasion but nothing more. You already have major brutality from netch. Bow is just a waste and it is still better to use resto staff cause of major mending (you can't get good uptime with just green balance passive) and bigger heal on targets with <15% hp.

I really can't see how you'd make it worth using instead of mana healer.

Ye olden dk standard end game tank has, out of 10 available skills and 2 ults, 3 stam skills. One is the s&b taunt, one is s&b absorb magick and the last is s&b heroic slash. Everything else is magicka cost. Alcast’s build list 1 skill with a health cost, I don’t run that personally but I did in the past when saptanks existed.

    Awesome post!

I am working currently on my Stamina Warden Healer and it's great.

Everybody who says no from the beginning seems a bit narrow-minded. It's things like these that made Elder Scrolls popular.

I worry as stamina healer becomes more mentioned will it needed to be balanced against Magicka counterparts?

Now being supportive you forgot hircine set, Pelinels, and I forget name but gives you stamina when Ally uses synergy.

Probably never happen. It’d be too easy for stamina classes to dip into it for more self healing.

Not having a stamina healing line is why vigor is so OP.

I’d be happy, having a strong ability is better than a bunch of weak options.
Looking for any guildies I used to play with:
    Havoc Warhammer - Alair
LoC EQ2 - Mayi and Iskiab
PRX and Tabula Rasa - Rift - Iskiab
Or anyone else I used to play games with in guilds I’ve forgotten
