Had a bow/bow bosmer nb back when I first started. It's not as good as a warden or sorc but it does the job well enough.

Then nb uses a bit more magicka than usual though, and alot of the stamina based spammables are melee range, which contradicts your bow/bow strategy.

You can however kite very well with nb, Shadow Image - Ambush - teleport back via shade - Shadowy Disguise - LA. You have Mirage (I don't usually use double take since I use crippling grasp for speed but both are useful imo) for some aoe defense, you also can use reapers mark for debuff.

Technically, a bow/bow uses much more weapon and guild skills rather than class skills, even the ultimates. My bars looked like this:

Main bar
Poison injection (spammables, execute)
Focused Aim (minor fracture)
Leeching strikes (sustain) / evil hunter (buff)
Crushing weapon (spammable)
Assassin will (burst, Stam regen)
Flawless dawn breaker (ultimate)

Offbar
Endless Hail (aoe)
Reapers mark (debuff)
Shadow Image (debuff, escape)
Mirage (extra mitigation) / Double take (mitigation with speed / leeching strikes (sustain)
Lightweight trap (crit buff)
Ballista (ultimate)

You an always change shadow Image with shadowy disguise for extra crit but I find that it's a waste of magicka. Lightweight trap can be changed with the psijic Race against time but you lose out on the passives for FG. You can also go all out, switch out mirage with evil hunter and put it on the main bar. This ensures you have a constant 6% weapon damage increase.

Keep leeching strikes and assassin will up at all times. Endless Hail is a huge source of dps with your crushing weapon and poison injection (though you can also change it to venom arrow for ranged interrupts needed for dlc dungeons.)

All in all, bow bow nb really shines in pvp environment but that doesn't mean it can't stand on its own in pve. All the best op.

As far as gear, a solid easy to get set up is Hundings Rage (crafted) x5, Spriggans (overland dropped in Bangkorai) x5 and Slimecraw x2 (Maj's box for shoulders and Vet Wayrest 1 for helm). That setup can carry you a long way.

This pretty much sums it. I was rather dissapointed with my experiments with bow bow nb, the nb kit is melee oriented so finding something which would help the ranged only build is hard. And as you say it drains magicka like crazy.
