Deadly strike

This set gives 14% extra damage to stamina dots like bleeds poison and physical over time. My question is does deadly strike buff the viper set?

    As far as I know sets only buffs "ABILITIES". Another set's buff/property is NOT AN ABILITY. Therefore, no it should not.

    Literally everything in eso that has some kind of name and some kind of damage or healing is ability.

    I mean, Elf Bane extends Zaan's duration from what I remember. (Unless that was changed.) That's a set affecting another set's proc. There's no telling in this game.

    If you was to equip maelstrom dw for the additional 2k damage on single target dots,does this set buff that additional value or just the base damage?

    I got a 5pc set of Deadly Strike today, put it on, and it did NOT buff Caltrops, Brawler bleed, or the DOT component of Shooting Star. Zero change to the tooltip of those abilities.

    I think it's bugged.

    never trust tooltips, always test on a dummy.

    it wouldn't buff Shooting star, it's fire or frost damage Deadly strikes only buffs dots of a physical nature.

    Has anybody actually parsed it to see if it's working? Just the weapon damage alone should buff some stats, but nothing changes at all flipping from 4 pcs to 5 pcs and back. It's like it's not even registering.

    You have to use combat metrics and a target dummy. Hit the dummy with the set on, look at log, then repeat with set off, do several times.
    For example if you do this with asylum bow, you can see the 45% increase.
    But for this set, it will be a small increase, a hit that was 1000 will be 1140.
    I'll try it tonight
    4 GOs, and General, and bunches of prefects etc-- all classes...I've wasted a lot of time in PVP over the last 8 years

    the damage you had the previous set is the same damage as with this set. So it's +1-1=0. Set should work since those are physical damage abilities.

    yes it works, Elf Bane increases Zaan duration by 2 sec. Grothdarr too, among other flame damage abilities. So it indeed work with set procs. Then, logically, Deadly Strike should buff the damage Viper does.

    Why should it buff shooting star?

    Ok I just tested this. Venomous claw with/without 5th piece deadly armor
    With: 3090, 2097, 2322, 2547, 2772, 4944; average hit of dot 2962
    Without: 1691, 1894, 2097, 2300, 4130, 2706; average hit : 2470

    So Deadly armor seems to be working as advertised (there were 2 crits in the deadly armor run so the boost is slightly higher than 14%

    When I tested on pts it didn't change jabs tool tip but jabs were hitting harder.

    I was playing around with it in a pub dungeon last night, didn't seem to be a dramatic difference with Brawler bleed, which is my spammable on that character. I did notice that Srendarr was broadcasting "Bonus Damage" a lot, not sure if that's what it's labeled in the addon or what. I'll have to test it on a dummy to be sure.

    That was my mistake, I forgot it was a fire DOT.

    Been playing with deadly strike on NB and stamplar and been noticing some good results, especially on dot crits

    Its not rocket science people. There should be absolutely no difference between this set and 14% in Thaumaturge CP star (when talking purely about poison, bleed, phys, disease dots)
